I didn't think that it would be given and I don't think that it would be most of the time. Dumfries knows exactly what he's doing, though. The commentators are claiming it's a block, but he's nowhere near it. He's just leaving one on Kane and he gets punished for it.
If he had done that in midfield everyone would agree it was a foul but penalties seem to have a different standard. I would abolish them.
We had an extra man in the middle the whole first half so had more time and space. Sometimes it's more about perspective than pace. Games slow down because there are suddenly fewer options and less space to make anything happen, so players take more touches and play safer options.
Flat second half. Neither side looking very ambitious. England looked good on the front foot in the first half, brought on Shaw to give more natural attacking width on the left……and then went into their shell.
