If that's a penalty, defenders are in the ****. I swear, they are trying to change football into basketball, as many goals as possible **** everything else.
I think studs are what made the officials make the call... bet if the shoe were tilted down slightly more it wouldn't have been given. Of course, will never know what made them make the call.
England dominate via foden being allowed to go everywhere. Bellingham sticking to left and doing a job while trippier stinks it out at both ends. The problem is it's 1-1 so for all that dominance England need to make it pay now. Southgate simply must make subs on 60 mins with shaw for trippier. There's not much else you'd do on this showing as even kane is moving a bit.
I'd understand if he was flying in, but he just raised his foot. Kane has hit him with more force than anything. I feel there's more and more "benefit" given to the attacker, and then they wonder why teams defend with 10 men behind the ball, because you can't put a challenge in anymore. But you see that every week and it's not a penalty, mystery why they've chosen to give this one.
He's not going towards Kane, he's trying to go across the trajectory of the shot and get a block in. Kane's follow-through means their feet clash. Never a pen, imo - just a coming together. Incidentally, the same officials have missed two or three niggling late challenges on England players.
A bit disappointing really since I was hoping we would fluke our way to the title being constantly out matched.
Every time I've done that or seen it in a pro game the ref blows up as the person kicking the ball is endangered by tje studs up block. Yeah it's in the pen area and it's harsh but it's a case of anywhere else and you'd call it a free and you'd not be shocked at a card being pulled. I used to love doing it.
Yes... I don't think Kane was in any danger there (like the studs up rule is in place to prevent). There was no malice and no intent there... but the studs up is the difference between a mere coming together and a foul. Feel bad for the defender, but by the rules, that is a foul. (a lot of refs would have looked the other way though)
How can a player trying to make a block predict how far the attacker is going to follow through? It's an accidental collision, no intent, and not reckless.
Got to say, Kyle Walker as found himself in much better positions today. However, I don't think he's passed to a white shirt yet and every cross attempt as been blocked too.
Managers have got at them and stopped tje adventure/panic depending on what side you are on. Dutch trying to out Southgate Southgate here.
Just need to get in the line of the kick and you do the damage mate. Just let them kick your studs. Refs always look for it.
