FWIW... I did just rewatch the penalty... I think it's the correct call... studs up, high boot, makes contact with player rather than ball. It's harsh but the correct call.

 

We will see what the dutch do now. It's too early for the donkey to come on it seems.

Not true... rewatch... Both players are still moving their legs when the contact is made.

Even if Kane had somehow the supernatural ability to stop his leg moving contact would still have been made. Only one player had studs up.

The only thing that makes it harsh however is that referees usually let defenders break the rules a little when defending as long as it isn't too egregious.
