No he wasn’t. He was bullet proof because of his record here and the circumstances of last season. He always was expected to progress from the start no matter who was in charge. No different next season.
I don’t disagree mate. I think last season was a 6/10 in the grand scheme of things. But I honestly think we should be aiming for top 4 again and a pot. With the investment and the expected investment I think PIF and the RB will demand that.
I do find it odd that we get in the Sports Director and within weeks if not days they are gone. Doesn’t anyone else find that a bit strange?
I would be surprised if we ‘knee jerked’, yes. If we were going to knee jerk then Howe would have gone last season. Don’t think we will though. Howe was given some leeway last season. Can’t see PIF accepting another season which ends like last season. I said last season that they will be constantly monitoring everything including Howe’s position. If he’s not progressing by Christmas and there are no extenuating circumstances then I would be surprised if he’s still here in January.
100% agree with this one. He’s also getting linked to the England job. He would do fantastic for England I really think that. Howe in for this season though. I’m very optimistic about things.
From my personal, albeit not remotely football-related, dealings with the Middle East; change can be slow. However i think last season, including the injuries, was viewed really poorly. I’m just a spectator but I thought the CL performance at home to Milan was a ****ing disgrace. Add in Forest, Bournemouth, and many more, plus we can’t be alone on this forum in wondering how the **** Burn, Trippier, Longstaff and others kept getting picked. Then there’s a transfer window that chose to keep Almiron, Wilson, Longstaff and Burn as first team regulars….. I dunno, I’d be asking a lot of questions. And I don’t think Howe has good answers. Loyalty? Commitment? Englishness?
Man City went through this phase. I think it’s inevitable on the journey. Howe has to adapt. I reckon there will be some top appointments now.
Whether or not Howe stays at NUFC, I don't think he'll go to manage England this soon. He has said previously his main love is coaching players and you get much chance to do that for Englabd vs club football. He has been quoted as saying managing England is something he'd love to do towards the end of his career.
Fair enough I didn’t realise he had said that. Imagine him with this group of players though. We would win everything.
Never let facts get in the way of a good all round ITK fest mate. Its facts that get people into trouble.
