His Biog is a holiday read. Seems a thoroughly decent bloke.

Bit of a bastard when needed as well. We could really do with another like him.

Yeah I couldn’t see how he’d fit in our 5’s team anyway

It is that bad isn’t it :emoticon-0126-nerd: I wouldn’t have bothered with Turkey trip. Delay until we have more first team players.

    This^
The buy back etc made me assume we wouldn’t keep him.
Without Villa’s clauses we wouldn’t have had him in the first place and he was low risk for us too because we always knew we’d likely get our money back at least.
    Like a free loan really

The Philogene sell on clause is absolutely fine. It's still a massive profit after having someone for a year and it should give us the funds to repeat it 2/3 times this window.

It's smart for Villa to take him back and means it's been a win win plus we'll still get add ons and a sell on.

Some clubs existence is dependent on doing it... Peterborough seem to be a fantastic example...

Brentford are another one, Watkins, benrahma, maupay, konsa, mepham and laughably woods, all bought cheap and sold for a big profit in the 3 seasons before they got promoted. It's the best way to do it

I don't even know why they are travelling Turkey. Turkey is great for warm weather winter camps, which doesn't really exist in Championship schedule.

But in summer, Turkey is just great for beaches, even league games are starting in mid-August and stops each 20 mins for water breaks.

If it wasn't Turkey it would be somewhere else hot like Portugal. Pretty standard thing for UK teams early in pre-season.

Shouldn't they travel to altitude camps, like Austrian/Swiss Alps?

If you're from Hull most places are at altitude. :emoticon-0103-cool:
