If we also get a right back in to cover the player that has no chance of staying injury free all season. And if we get another left back to cover for the only one we have (that you think is crap) who could also still be leaving, but yes, a third choice goalkeeper who is unlikely to ever play is the priority.
Who said it was a priority? Our third choice left, we need another in case of injury so we have a "club trained" player come in. It fills a quota spot in the squad. Leaves options open for other "priority" positions. I'm just happy to wait and see how the squad shapes up for the end of the window
Well I did say IF, but I wouldn’t mind a few key areas where we’re lacking being addressed first and here for preseason if possible (we’ve had one LB for how many years) but if you’re happy then I’m happy
so if we look at our last few transfer windows Last season our first arrival was Ampadu on 18 July, and I think most of consider that last summer was not an ideal situation for the club Season before (our relegation year) before the end of June we had agreed to purchase Roca, Kristensen and Aaronsson ( all signed before the end of June). We then also signed Adams and Sinisterra by the 8 July. So by this stage of the season in 2022, we had made 5 supposedly major signings. Season before by this stage of the season we had signed Firpo, and Harrison on permanent deals. First season back in the Premier League, the transfer window started late due to Covid and ran from 27 July to 5th October. Our first signing that season was Gelhardt on 9 August, followed by Rodrigo and Koch on 28 August. So the one year that we actually signed a number of players early, ended in utter disaster. Not saying that 2 of the other 3 seasons were anything to shout out about, but the transfer window only opened on 14 June for this season, 24 days ago
I would be but full backs have been required for a number of years now and never been properly addressed so forgive me for not getting overly excited about a third choice goalkeeper being signed however astute it might have been.
Still being reported by several sources including the beeb that Summerville, Rutter and Gnonto likely to be sold this summer? Will we have a team left by the start of August?
I'm sure we'll sell at the right time. Look at Southampton last season, got a start from Ward-Prowse and 3 starts from Nathan Tella. 7 pts in the bag. Hopefully we can use our top lads to get us off to a fast start.
Doesn’t mean that it’ll happen just because it’s being reported. Would make sense why we’re being linked with O’Hare and Miller if true as they will be replaced.
To be fair, the Beeb quote the source as Football Insider so the multiple sources become regurgitations from the same source and FI are as ITK as my dog, just drama seeking clickbait
Have you asked your wifes horse yet as i think it will know more than the evening post/bbc etc etc etc.
