Anyone watch the last hour or so of Glamorgan so very nearly getting a world record 4th innings winning score? It was incredible. Great effort
Rant - Watching Wimbledon - Why the heck don't tennis fans stay in their seats during the match. Every time there is a break in play people are either getting up and going out, or coming in from where ever they have been. And there are always a few that haven't sat down by the time the players are ready to recommence. No respect!
Safe standing barriers. Or in this case safe sitting. The bar secures them in place during play. Releases on change of ends and if they are not back in their seats by 10 seconds before play recommences each area has sliding doors (like on newer tube stations) to keep them out for another 2 games. Royal Box included. It can be annoying I know and worse this year for some reason. Nevertheless I enjoy Wimbledon. Been there several times. I dislike the French open at Roland Garos. Clay courts, funny colour, fans sat in funny boxes all smoking their pungent French cigarettes. Different courts named after some frog tennis player I've never heard of. What's wrong with Centre Court, Number 1 Court etc. BT, I match your rant and raise you another one. Clingo wont be interested.
So true. Fat blokes (plus some women) throwing pointy sticks at a wall. It was a lot more fun when the competitors sank loads of booze between throws - see the Mel Smith and Griff Rhys Jones sketch.
Tractor has a puncture. Man coming to fix it tomorrow morning. They sort it without taking the wheel off. Interesting to watch.
Just had the X5 MOT'd - no problem, sailed through. At least I didn't have to have 4 new boots on it like last year. 4 x Pirelli P Zero's set me back £1200. I know those big buggers on the rear of tractors aren't cheap either but I bet they last a bit longer than mine.
The backs on mine are £750 a tyre. They're 18.4 on a 38 inch rim. The fronts are 14.9 on a 28 inch rim.
The last time I had an issue the inner tube had worn through. The tube moves in the tyre and rubs against the weave on the tyre wall. I think they were originally tubeless, but the rims get dinked and don't seal properly. The blocks on the tyres are very thick, but in between sometimes picks up a nail or similar.
Tyre man has been. Simple fix. Pushed the tyre off the rim, cleaned it up and re-sealed it. Probably still won't cheap.
It wasn't cheap. £106. Lesson learned though. Given the tyre was only soft, I could have limped the tractor to their facility which is only 2 miles away. The call out was over £50.
