Except it wouldn’t be 5 x £80m players even in theory. Factor in Agents fees. Factor in one years wage. You’re probably left with 5 x £60-65 M players. In reality would, at best, look at 2 or 3 players. One to cover Gordon going. One for RW and one for RCB. Potentially, non tested and tried in the PL. For me, we don’t sell Gordon. We sell Wilson, Miggy and Longstaff. We retain Gordon. We only need 2 big new players. Less risk and not giving out the wrong message about keeping the big players.
I was allowing leeway. 5 year contracts at £100m sale =£500 in transfer kitty. So £400m leaves £100m for the salaries and fees you mentioned. But I agree, sell others first, absolutely. I want Gordon to stay. I'm just saying there are positives if we were to sell him for that kind of price.
This is it for me. Need to keep Gordon. He’s our LW for many years. We sell those 3 you mention for the same price and we can invest accordingly.
But, in one sense, we don’t need £100M. We need enough to buy a first team RW and a first team RCB. Selling those three should cover that. Not forgetting the losing threes from the wage bill at the same time.

TBF if we can get £35m for Anderson, then Longstaff should be worth a decent chunk more. Anderson - 16 apps (+39 sub), 0 goals. Longstaff - 145 apps (+37 sub), 16 goals In all competitions.
Agreed. Wilson is still a good player who scores important goals when fit but at his age and with his injury record we're not getting any real money for him and are probably better off keeping him. Longstaff is a decent squad player but I can't see us getting offered over £20m for him. Almiron we could get £15m+ and should sell if we're getting in a different RW, he's the only one of those 3 i can see leaving this summer.
Saudi are also more interested in growing their league than giving Newcastle money for **** or shot players.
So Miggy who’s is an icon in Paraguay and Wilson who is a beautiful looking Englishman would be perfect for their growth. £20m each please. Longstaff we can sell for a greggs pastie.
We are being linked with Serbian international CB Strahinja Pavlovic, currently at RB Salzburg. Although most reports I've seen still seem to suggest we'll go all in for Malick Thiaw instead.
