Correct. He did. The serial trophy winners sign the serial goal scorer. What could go wrong? Ah, of course, silly me. I forgot, just like when he is playing for England he is surrounded by inedequates.
If Kane’s fit I can’t see Southgate dropping him. He might come up with a goal and he’s thought to be good at drawing defenders out to create space. That’s fine but there’s nobody dropping into that space as was seen yesterday on 2 or 3 occasions. I’d be starting Toney or Watkins and have Kane coming on as a second striker if we end up chasing the game.
Toney should start Kane can come on later Will need a very high energy forward line against the dutch For whatever reason kane is never inside the box which is where he scores almost all his goals At bayern he was always there He also seems off the pace to the rest of the players in the press Not fully fit? You cant start him just becasue its kane
Yes, he’s been poor in all four games so far and I’d be happy to see Toney start ahead of him against the Netherlands.
Off topic and purely out of interest, you said last-night you are flying out for the semi-final? What's the ticket situation? I did look at flights last night from various airports in Scotland and for obvious reasons they're not overly expensive, however when I looked at tickets, they we're starting at £500-£600.
“Why is it always”. Eh? I suggested prior to this Tournament a couple things and one of them was Kane’s fitness possibly becoming a potential problem. That said all strikers need a supply to feed off and Kane has definitely been starved of chances simply because he need the ball at his feet running at goal. Agree about Kane losing his Ariel battle but again that’s down to Southgate not changing the way Kane gets possession. Let’s have it right here. Saka had been f’kin awful up to last night and the other flank has been a mixture of Foden dribbling himself into a corner and Bellingham refusing to cross properly. They are supposed to feed the strikes and if their form is missing so are the chances. It’s obvious Kane isn’t himself but if like I suggested earlier strikers can only score when the supply is coming regularly and even a 80% fit Harry Kane will normally bury at least one chance a game. Southgate won’t drop him unless he’s injured and even if he did that in itself wouldn’t suddenly make England World beaters as our problems are more complicated than an off form Harry Kane.
If I read this correctly, you believe Kane is 80% fit. I believe he is nowhere fit enough to be leading the line. His legs have gone, his back has gone. There is no out ball to him from midfield because, a. he wont get there, b. he is easily shrugged aside, c. in the air? he hasnt jumped for a ball all tournament. He has scored a header. Probably as a result of all the defenders trying to cut out a long throw to someone who could actually get airborne. Though I will admit it was a cunning ploy. Be that ****, that defenders forget all about you.
And the team, Bayern won????? Summed up in a Guardian sports headline - "Kane scores penalty, but Bayern lose again" The season before, Bayern as a team scored more goals, and won the league. You ain't going to convince me. Pretty much the opposite is true. You think he is ace. I don't think he is.
Not trying to convince anyone anything pal. At the end of the day Southgate decides who gets the nod and who doesn’t ..and neither you or me can change that. End of chat.
If we ended the chat about us not deciding who starts in city games And what not Thered no need for a forum!
Bayern scored more goals in the league this season than last, Leverkusen won the league because they didn't lose a game all season, which is absolutely exceptional. It's never happened before and may well never happen again and it's absolutely no reflection on Kane, who had a fantastic season.
Tickets for the third group game were being sold by touts for below face value, the demand had fallen so far, but junior only had one ticket for last night's game and spent the last few days trying to get one for his girlfriend, but to no avail. He always had a pair of tickets sorted for the semi-final and has just been praying that England would actually be in it, as was I. He's not managed to get any tickets for the final though. £500 isn't a bad price for a ticket at this stage, I'd have expected them to be into four figures by now.
If there was any justice in football, the final should be between Spain & Holland, we think we’ve been crap, France haven’t scored a goal, except for a penalty & are in the semi finals!
