Obviously not fit, and rusty having not played since early Feb, but thought Shaw did well. Konsa played well until he went off, and Mainoo was excellent until he went off. Not a lot else to shout home about beyond the quality penalties.

Edit: oh and Saka too, one of our few dangerous attackers, scored a brilliant goal, and special mention for stepping up again to take a penalty and scoring it after the last one he took.

 

I would say Switzerland had 5-6 clear cut chances and we had... a long range Saka effort.

 

As bad as we were. Switzerland were equal to it.

Look, Southgate should have made subs sooner. Waiting until Switzerland scored after 75 minutes was criminal. Swiss were on top well before they scored. However, I thought the performance was pretty decent today. Switzerland have been excellent all tournament and it was always going to be a tight, cagey game. Cracking response to going a goal down as well.

 

That simply isn't true. If they had a finisher they would have won by a margin.
