This time tomorrow I will be logging off from not606 and heading off on my hols. I will be off-line until the 16th and literally getting away from it all for a couple of weeks. I always make a point to avoid the news etc when I am recharging my batteries, which beggars the question: "What the hell will I come back to? Every-thing resolved; business as usual Rumours still doing the rounds Pompey deducted 10 points and in admin Pompey deducted stupid points and already preparing for survival in League One next year Pompey out of business and the clamour for the creation of "AFC Pompey" taking place. The further down the list you go the worse it looks. How low will it go while I'm away?
Put it this way, it is out of your hands, enjoy your break and forget football, when you come back, things may have changed for the better. Hope the weather is better than it is going to be here for the near future.
Enjoy your holidays Dev and try to forget about all the bad stuff going on. We shall try and keep SB3 on a leash for you.
That's the worst thing isn't it Devo. We just don't know what could happen overnight. For the first time in 2 years, I knew that I could wake up without fearing for the club I love with all my heart. Now it's just a really weird deja vu. Unfortunatly I think the worst is gonna come to light and within a few weeks we wil be out of business and it physically hurts to type this. Due to the way the global econamy is, and how expensive everything is nowadays (15p for a Freddo), this is much worse than our previous financial crisis's. The only glimmer of hope for me is that, someone on truebluearmy, was doing some maths during our last money **** up, and we have should have enough to start up a phoenix club. I hope.
Enjoy your hold, Dev! Enjoy that and forget about PFC for a few weeks. Just enjoy yourself, that is all that matters!
Easier said than done. He'll find himself buying over priced papers for just a snippet of good news. Harsh, but true. My advice, have a glass of vino & consider this, in a hundred years time, who will care. Have a safe trip.
What a time to be going away! Try to 'enjoy' yourself wherever you may be Dev, but hopefully there'll be an internet link somewhere nearby
I fully understand how you will be feeling & it isn,t very nice. We all wear our hearts on our sleeves with the club we love. Fear the worst & hope for the best - what else can you do. I can only say that I hope all goes well but also would say the signs are ominous. It will be interesting to hear a statement from the football league with regaqrd to fit & proper persons. I personally think they are not fit for purpose & it appears that all the signs were there from the outset.
You know you will not be able to cut yourself of Dev, certainly with every thing going on. In box me your address and I will send over a pigeon every couple of days, as long as you promise not to bar b them.
We all have different ways of coping. Try diverting your energies into posting various confectionary based threads. Some seem to find it helps.
Sweden wouldn't let Antonov buy into SAAB and the FSA wouldn't let him open branches of Snoras Bank in the UK because he couldn't be trusted. The FA though, in its wisdom, consider him to be a Fit and Proper Person to own a football club. Yeah right!
Have a great holiday Devo, and don't worry about Pompey while you are away enjoying yourself. By the time you return, it will all be sorted. Peter Ridsdale will be our new owner, with Peter Storrie as Chief Executive, and Tony Adams as manager..........
Blimey Wooperts You know, if somebody wrote a book on Pompey publishers would turn it down as not-believable!
A horrible thing to have to try to predict I know, but let's be realistic here. If a lawyer doesn't hold out much hope of avoiding a deduction..... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/15944523.stm then I think we must start to accept the distinct possibility. So how many points do you think we will be penalized? As this could be too tempting to any Red WUMs to resist, I'll make it a public poll.
The only thing certain, Dev, is that you will be coming back to Christmas - what kind of Christmas is not yet certain but think along the lines of 'In the Bleak Midwinter'!
Leicester fan in peace: I sincerely hope that your club can find a passionate and football minded owner and that you successfully sail through these troubled times. Im sure you will get a deduction but I wont be alone amongst your rivaL fans in wishing you the results to stay up. Good Luck Pompey
