It does seem that we are working in order, sorted the goalkeeper now sorting the defence. Probably just coincidence, and hopefully for those who want another keeper
Plus Meghoma. Larios I would imagine will go out on loan. Possibly Meghoma as well. So that leaves Taylor/Wellington/Manning which is still one too many really, so maybe Manning will be off as well.
I know, And I would expect he might be or sold.. Just surprises me we would 2 LBs when we already have Manning.
Still three first team left backs does seem excessive. Maybe Taylor has been brought in to be part of a back three rather than a LWB. Manning suits LWB and from the little I’ve read about Welington sounds like his more athlete full back than defender Or the Welington rumours are just bollocks
But Manning couldn't defend in the Championship. So I think someone's worked out Manning won't be up to PL standard.
Didn’t Leeds want Manning last summer? Maybe they never watched him last year apart from when we beat them 3 times so they might still think he’s good
Manning is still very effective as attacking WB, Defending Meh.. But Leeds can definitely go with 2 attacking wbs and not worry to much.
Continues the apparent back of the pitch to front signing policy Related to this - the saints fans on Reddit really did not like when I suggested no new goalkeeper would be signed and McCarthy was signed as first choice. I can understand not liking it but they were in real denial. But Reddit is closer to Facebook and Twitter where everyone says stuff like “give him a one year contract on lower wages as backup” - ignoring that he apparently had other first team offers and better back up offers
Wonder how he got a work permit? Only a handful of youth appearances. Transfermarkt has his contract as up at the end of this calendar year. So if true this won’t be an expensive deal Always a chance this is a Goetzpe signing. He doesn’t seem that established. Doesn’t seem like a signing for the starting line up
If football manager is accurate then there is something called ESC places for players who don’t immediately qualify for a work permit. Teams get 4 each which can be given to players so they can play. After a year you go through the work permit process again when the player may qualify (presumably because they have played a certain amount of games for the new club which means they qualify due to playing %) If they don’t qualify after a year you can’t allocate the ESC place to the same player again so the player can’t play and has to be loaned/sold if they want to play
Doubt it as he has been loaned out so never needed a work permit to play in England. If we want him to play for us this year then he could get one
“Just to clarify on Duje Caleta-Car, believe there was an obligation to buy in his Lyon loan contract hence why he has arrived there for pre-season. Not sure when/what announcements we'll get but that should be permanent”
Apparently we are getting about £9m for Carr & Lyanco. That seems like fantastic business considering a) how crap they are and b) We are supposedly getting Wood & Edwards for £6m
