I have it on good authority that Mr Rhodes will be joining the 'Premier' club in East Anglia this January.
Evidently, he's soo pissed off at the the way he was treated by 1p5wich, he can't wait to ply his trade north of the border ;)

thats not Huddersfield on Sky, that is Ipswich Town Old Boys 11.
Rhodes, Lee, Roberts, Miller and Bruce are there now. Its a lower level of football but its worrying that our rejects can go 43 matches unbeaten yet we cant go 43 minutes!
Kickitoff - Is your good authority your imagination? Rhodes as already stated he has nothing against Town and would welcome the chance to play for us again. If you did sign him you would be helping us out anyway as we have a fairly hefty sell on clause for him which was rumoured to be anything up to 50% - get your cheque book out guys

tractorbhoy, there is 0% chance of rhodes going back to ipswich, honestly, though i think there will be bigger clubs than norwich in for him on current form. interesting you point out the five players at huddersfield who are all 'rejects'. difficult to say but i reckon all five of those players would improve your current team. maybe would have less ability than a bullard or emmanuel thomas but they would definitely give their all for the cause

Morning Supers - hope your well.
With the sell on clause I can only imagine Huddersfield accepting stupid money for Rhodes tbh. Celtic have been linked and Neil Lennon was there last night but I doubt they could afford him.
Im not sure if all those could do a job for us now but most of them were cast aside because we changed our ethos and went for bigger names.
Not on the same level but Alan Lee gave us an annoyance factor similar to you have with Grant Holt and I think we should have never of got rid of him when we did. He would annoy, moan and defenders had a difficult time with him. I dont think there is any coincidence in the fact that Lee and Counago were most probably our best partnership of the last 4 or 5 years. Neither are well known or glamourous but Lee battered and Pablo done the easy bit, at least when we played at home.
Rhodes I have some sympathy with. I think we let him go to allow Wickham to flourish and the results werent bad. A lot will say we should have kept them both but keeping two very promising strikers happy is never going to be easy unless you promote them both to the first team on a regular basis and what manager would be brave enough to do that.
Roberts went through a difficult spell with us but we havent had a wide man or anyone that could take deadballs since he left so probably wasnt a great decision.
Miller was getting on when we let him go but as you say none of the replacements have really flourished and Miller was at least reliable if not always spectacular.
Bruce was rash in the challange but at least he could challange. Our current defence seems to think football is no contact and simply allow everyone to wander through at will.
With their current ages I wouldnt want to see Miller and Lee here now but we should have kept them for longer than we did and the other 3 could all offer us something we need now

i'm good thanks. alan lee actually did quite well for us in the short period he was with us. i wouldn't have been against signing him permanently for our league one campaign.

I think you're absolutely right there. Neither team gave up, and even 2-0 down and 10 minutes to go you could see Huddersfield still felt they were in with a chance and just kept on attacking the ball. Hopefully ITFC don't need a 43 game unbeaten run before showing that kind of passion (although I wouldn't mind if we did go on a run like that)

i didn't watch the game wright but how did each side perform? did you think they looked too good for league one? could they 'do a norwich/saints' and take the championship by storm? i remember being shot down two years ago when i stated that the top 8 in league one were all good enough to finish top half of the championship. it seems there was some truth in it though, what with city's performance, leeds and millwall last term and now that of southampton, even peterborough and brighton... there's some bloody good teams down there!

Hello SuperG..I tried to watch it but the ether failed me! I am convinced as one who has watched clubs' fortunes ebb & flow over some 50 years..in fact 50 years this year ( award please for insanity at devoted supporter!) that much of the noble game at all levels is about CONFIDENCE. If a team has it in spades, they can beat almost anyone. ITFC have most of the players...but tumbling confidence. Any of the top 6 L1 sides would wop us right now. But I have a small hunch..and a wee dram bet on things turning round soon. Mind you I have just returned from a 3 day biz meeting in Ireland, and they know a thing or 2 about football & rugby come to that over past 12 months...oh, and about the noble nectar. Irish mist descended! I am greatly impressed by Norwich this season. All goes to show, that yo dont need 11 overpaid superstars. I was born there many decades ago..fine city. So that's me outed!

To be fair supers, I only saw the first half but thought Huddersfield played far to much long ball which is unlike what I have previously seen from them. Charlton counter attacked and look comfortable. On a typical Huddersfield performance and the Charlton from last night could both cope in the championship but with their current teams I cant see them worrying the playoffs first time round.
