Regardless you can either use the evidence there is or just be ignorant and say it's lies without having a shread of evidence otherwise. The reason was PSR which was another thing the cult argued wasn't even an issue and now we all know it most definitely was, so the journalists were right all along that weren't they. I would not be surprised to see Gordon leave if he has another good season or basically if Liverpool decide they'll cough up. Newcastle came close to selling Gordon, but thankfully Forest and Brighton provided a late escape.
Has he ruled out ever selling him has he? Are you implying PSR wasn't even an issue ? Please make clear your argument.
Go read it. I don’t like the **** so I’m not about to “believe something I want to hear” and choose to “ignore things I don’t want to hear”
Please make clear your argument? Are you still arguing that PSR wasn't an issue and are you implying Gordon wasn't close to being sold ?
No. Luke Edwards is. PSR was cleared by the amount they received for Ashworth which they knew they had before sanctioning sales of Minteh and Anderson. These sales were set up after the club announced to agents weeks ago they’d listen to offers. Liverpool interest in Gordon was described as like warm at best
Interesting ! So now we have a journalists saying something that you're prepared to believe. I guess we finally have an reasonable argument otherwise at least. I would like some clarity on whether to believe journalists though ? It would appear all of a sudden the one you all take the piss out of is right ?
I'd talks took place that's close... Newcastle might have had to take less if the other deals didn't materialise to avoid the deduction. That's the point.. PSR was the issue and of course people wouldn't accept that It was all a clever plan to keep prices down
I'm just going off Romano, who is one of the very few I ever pay any real attention to as he does at least typically seem to be 90% right.
So if someone came to me and asked to buy my house and I said either £1m or fook off and so they fooked off, that means I was close to selling my house because we talked about it? OK.
Gordon's future beyond this season all depends on how well we'll do this year, and we're in a good place, with Spurs and Villa finishing the year ****e and both with Europe next season, and Man U still with Ten Hag. They'll always be interest in players who are doing well, ie Bruno and Isak too. All it was was interest, there's no evidence we came close to selling. The rumours was that an offer of £50m plus their reserve keeper was made, which is laughable....I'm reality, there was probably never even an offer. Gordon, Isak and Bruno are the assets we'd sell at the last resort, which never just put Gordon first on the list to balance the books. I don't know what Forest were smoking to give us £35m for Anderson, but even if they hadn't, we'd have sold players other than Gordon first. Minteh may prove worth £33m, but right now I'm happy to take the money.
Don't think you're considering what the club might have had to do if the Anderson sale wasn't done. Think mcfly
The approach fans have with journalists is very simple 1. Like the story and it's a good article 2. Don't like the story and journalists are all liars.
Aside from official club news, I think I've only ever quoted 'news' if I've seen Romano post it. Even he's not 100%, but far better than most. On that I've been consistent, regardless of what the news is and whether or not I 'like' it. Most of the others do post a lot of clickbait trash.
I'm still interested to know if the people that spent months to a year arguing that PSR wasn't an issue have finally realised.. Anyway we will see about spend now it's all sorted in the short term... if Edwards said 50 million people would be throwing tomatoes at him. Actually the poll i made was very sly and in time we will realise that. It's all good I just don't know why people are so selective when reviewing evidence... Well I do actually and it's emotional preferences and I prey on it.
