I said the new owners had spent £70m since arriving, in response to other suggesting they got promoted on a shoestring, anything else you read into it was entirely down to you.
Its jus another reason why the prem is ****e imo Outside of the price increases Less games etc as a fan Soon as a teams promoted they can suddenly spend 70m+ on 3 players
Who did they buy for 20m when in league 1? Last season when in the championship they had a player from Chelsea on loan, now the have been promoted to the Premier league they have bought him for 20m. I suppose that's similar to we planned to to do with carvalio or morton or Delap.
Their wage bill for the League One season was £20m their wage bill for the Championship season will be significantly higher.
His name was in my post and in the article I posted. Omari Hutchinson. However, you are correct, the post on twitter said he signed for £20m in L1 but he joined on loan and signed for the reported £20m this week. I'll stop ****ing around on google and get some work done. EDIT: Even the L1 bit wasn't true apparently. I'm never mentioning ****ing Ipswich again. The only away game I made last season and we got smashed too.
Puts our L1 winning wage bill at £8m into perspective. Ipswich spent a fortune in L1 under the new owners and largely made a mess until they took a punt on McKenna.
https://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/24205704.ipswich-town-accounts-2022-2023-financial-year-revealed/ L1 wage bill was 19.8m according to their local rag reporting on the latest set of published accounts. Of course you could download them yourself from HMRC to be absolutely sure rather than relying on an aggregator site with questionable credibility.
They aren't. They basically bought league 1 with a championship wage bill and I very much doubt they wont have spent significantly more last season.
They spent money but spent it wisely, sold players on for big profits and reinvested well time and time again. There is a reason they've got so far without having any FFP difficulties. There are definite lessons to learn from them and definitely too few clubs with the discipline to follow their model closely enough.
So could the others who are quoting wages and spending left right and centre. More importantly, what were their xGs?
They didn’t. It was still under £20 million. Though they did splash out on one player buying a player they had on loan. Wouldn’t mind us playing the sort of football Ipswich play.
Neither have you, daft lad. They are quoting figures from various sites. Why don’t you tell them to get in touch with HMRC, you sad obsessive twat?
You're not having a good day today, that is their League One wage bill, their Championship wage bill won't be made public until the accounts come out for the 2023-24 season in March 2025.
I'm sure most of the league want to play the Ipswich style of play and will be aspiring towards it. They were 200k short of 2m. A percent or so off. So splitting hairs over a marginal rounding. And why the focus on transfer fees? Could have signed Messi on a free transfer, still doesn't mean they wouldn't have to pay millions in wages.
