My apologies, misheard the commentary as 30! Point still stands though. Difference between the teams is monumental right now. So we'll probably go and beat them in the final or something.
Annoying thing is when you compare our squad with Spain, we edge it. Amazing what a team can achieve when they actually know how they should be playing and are set up correctly.
As I said earlier, there's no real outstanding European team currently - we (on paper) I think have the best squad (bar left backs).
Don't think they'll get past Germany. Look good going forward but defence definitely seems like it can be got at.
if Southgate played a left back and a proper winger on the left we would look good. Shame. He will never admit his mistakes.
Crazy thing is he admitted not having a left footer at left back is harming us... yet he picked the ****ing squad!
Yeah feels it should be later but that's tournament football I guess. I do enjoy a heavyweight QF though, where you can start to separate hype from the real deal.
Despite coming back to win it, it doesn’t sound like I really missed out by missing the second half then
it was goals from nowhere. I’ll be honest, I really didnt feel anyhting when it went in. I was so cross that we got to the 94th minute without even looking like we could score I was just meh despite it being a cracking effort from Bellingham. He had been so anonymous till then that I couldn’t get excited. I was genuinely shocked that Kane got a second and then just speechless with the subs and formation for the last 20mins. Southgate continues to fail forwards/upwards despite his best efforts.
The line up for the second half of ET was hilarious Southgate is sooooo lucky that we played a rubbish team. Switzerland will beat us comfortably if we play like that again
2018 WC - SF 2020 Euro - Final 2022 WC - QF 2024 Euro - QF (really should be another Final given the way the draw has opened up) Imagine what we could have done with a good manager... Southgate takes credit for stamping out the club cliques bullshit and for garnering a togetherness more akin to club football. But that was achieved some time ago now, we should have moved on from Southgate at least 2 years ago and it could be argued it should have happened after the last Euros.
Under Southgate, in knockout football we have: Drawn with Colombia (pen win) Beaten Sweden Lost to Croatia Lost to Belgium Beaten Sengal Lost to France Beaten Germany Beaten Ukraine Beaten Denmark Drawn with Italy (lost on pens) And if we are including Nations League: Tonked by the Netherlands. I don’t think it is a record to write home about, tbh.
