This is why the blackadder guy won't ever be happy. The prices force Newcastle into being a mediocre club.
That has actually made me lose hope we are taking this stuff seriously. He was our best player last season, he's a future star of this football club and we considered selling him... To LIVERPOOL?! Newcastle refused to comment. I want a comment, I want a letter of formal apology.
Prevailing rumour is we offered him out. Doesn't mean it's the truth. There is a secondary persistent rumour that Liverpool initiated the contact with an enquiry, hoping to take advantage of our advertised FFP concerns and we requested a large sum of money and their best prospect at CB in return. They rejected this. We said 'on your way then'.
Sell all of Ashworths bargin bucket ****e then. Cannot believe people care that Minteh is going to Brighton of all places, whilst we have such a lukewarm reaction to trying to selling Gordon to Liverpool. People were practically crying themselves to an early grave through dehydration when Bruno was linked to Real Madrid for an eye watering 100m+. Liverpool the deal was money and we get ... Quansah. QUANSAH. Please, **** these signings, Newcastle United, find a Director of Football as soon as humanly possible. Whoever is running the show right now has dementia.
Number of bits and bobs on threads from the likes of Maguire and that stefan bloke on twitter, that there are 2 large sponsorships thought to be training ground and training sponsor that haven’t been cleared in time from PL. May or may not be bollox. We’ll see.
I'm going to have to say, if it's on the BBC Sport page not even their gossip column, but a genuine full article it's the truth. Those guys on BBC sport only post when they have a genuine source, it's Sky who post all the gossip as fact. It's an appalling bit of business, we should rightfully react with anger even if they are rumours, so that the club know it's an unacceptable step for the football club.
Newcastle didn't offer Liverpool a player! Liverpool must have expressed an interest and then baulked at the price. Essentially the story should read Liverpool fail in attempt to sign Anthony Gordon, but the journalists prefer to say Newcastle didn't get want they wanted.
The PL purposefully delaying sponsorship deals in an attempt to financially damage us, hoping that we have to sell key players and/or take a points deduction? Yes, that sounds sadly believable.
Should react with anger. Still shouldn't swallow a rumour as truth, even if a more reputable media source is reporting it. BBC aren't infallible and Liverpool could be feeding the rumour in an attempt to unsettle the player.
They didn't want the Saudis here in the first place, so it would be foolish to rule out the sponsorship delays.
Some of the comments were also relating to Man City's case against the PL, making out they were waiting to see the outcome before either proceeding or not. As I say, who know's? This whole thing has been bonkers.
I doubt it's something that would be easy to prove beyond doubt. It just seems in keeping with past behaviour.
You inflate the fee for elenga. Forest inflate the fee for Anderson. Grand scheme no real difference other than you both get a nice cash boost for this year while putting the outgoing money down for 5 years. essentially exactly what villa and Everton did wit their swap deal and what villa and Chelsea doing with theirs. Just need to tear up these stupid ffp rules and start again using common sense
I suspect the PL is in its final throes. The legal action will just keep coming, and they don’t know their arse from their elbow.
