Was stud on the rail when he won 2nd time. I shed a tear, backed him after he won the Clarence house, I think?!?!?! At 20s
They were brilliant the night we seen them, only went cause there was a spare ticket, it was early days for them always keep half an ear for them these days!
If I’m ever having a bad day that my go to video the feeling of him going over the last and standing there ticket in hand is just WOW!
Wow indeed marra. Some performance. Me and me dad are freaks and watch it back and are admitted un de sceaux didn't finish 2nd
Sorry I know it's a music thread but 1 last thing. Was stood at the last when Vatour won the jlt. Wow
Class in here tonight lads. Thanks alot, cheered me up. Watching an episode of band of brothers then off to sleep
This got me thinking. 10. Oasis 9. Arctic Monkeys 8. Polyphonic Spree 7. Hot Chip 6. Marilyn Manson (not my thing at all but I'd taken all sorts and it was just magic. 5. Arcade Fire 4. Richard Ashcroft 3. The Stone Roses 2. Ray Davies 1. The Who Seen a lot of bands I like a lot more than some of the above, Kasabian, Libertines, Editors, the Street, the Music etc but the above gigs were wacky.
Best live band was Queens Of The Stone Age. Just a machine, and they seem to be able to pluck anything out of their back catalogue on a whim and nail it perfectly whenever they fancy. I was lucky enough to catch The Stone Roses on a good night in 2012, which was nice as I hadn't got them back in the day. Seen Madness a couple of times, always top class. Radiohead before and after OK Computer. Difficult to pick just one.
Seen QOTSA once and they were excellent. Went to the etihad to see the roses in about 2017 and they were superb. Madness are always good value. Thought they mightve packed in by now, but they're in the middle of a new tour. I've never really been a big fan of Radiohead but I've seen them live once, and they were good
Arcade Fire are very good live. Totally forgot about the polyphonic spree, seen them once and thought they were class. Knocked out a few shapes to hot Chip loads of times.
Watched a lot of the live coverage yesterday while pottering round the house and garden. It just felt so flat. Was interested in seeing The Last Dinner Party and it turns out they're the result of a record exec saying 'we need another band that look and sound like those Wet Leg guys', which was disappointing. So many huge names knocking about the UK at the right kind of time that could have been there. Green Day, Killers, hell even Taylor Swift. Oh god. I've just seen Michael J Fox in his chair. That's not right, that.
Karma police live … Some bands are showmen /women but some just rip that chest wide upon and sing with their hearts exposed (so to speak). Thom Yorke is one of the latter.
Nothing better than live music, been lucky enough to see loads of great acts over the years. My first gig as a 15-year-old was Oasis at the arena. That will take some beating. Took my brother to see Arcade fire at the arena for his first gig, think I ruined live music for him as nothing has lived up to it for him since. I saw Morrissey in Dallas, supported by the Courteeners with my brother as well. Both were class, absolutely no one in the crowd other than me and him really knew the courteeners so we were the only ones belting out the lyrics, quite a surreal experience. Took my Mrs to see Old Crow Medicine Show in Glasgow - they played for 2 1/2 hours without a pause, was incredible. There’s loads more but those are a few of the standout ones. Been class to read everyone else’s aswell.
Bloc Party reminding everyone how brilliant they were. I can forgive them Significantly Younger Drummer cause their stuff will cripple arms and wrists at a rate of knots.
