Americans will ignore Trump's conviction as Biden is clearly unfit to be in office. Democrats have ****ed up badly.

Calling him ‘a vegetable’ is silly - he’s an elderly man whose faculties are going (and have been for some time). As to ‘who is running America’, the President is a figurehead (with a veto), it will be being run by his large team of advisors, like it is in any democracy. Nobody runs a country single handed (even Putin), which is frankly a relief.

As a figurehead and a representative to other leaders, he’s incredibly weak now though, and needs to be replaced (which has been obvious for a while).

You consider yourself an adult with your snide insults whilst you quote the irrelevant Tucker Carlson and war criminal Putin. Adult my arse, just a trolling wumpster talking adolescent bollocks.

Said ages ago the democrats are stupid for not swapping Biden out. He's almost certainly gonna lose to Trump and almost any other candidate would have a great chance.

I don’t see any way back for Biden.

He has to step down from being the nominee, but I can’t see anything other than a trump win

Could say the same of the republicans though. Polling showed Haley would have won comfortably against any of the democratic possibles. Stubbornness on both sides but looks likely to cost Dems more

Basically running on "he's not Trump" was enough the first time but won't be this.

The excuses that are being trotted out for this behaviour from the American government (and you) is frankly disgusting.

The guy cannot even tie his own shoelaces.

It’s a huge embarrassment and national security emergency in my eyes.

What documents is he signing? What external influences is he being affected by?

He cannot be trusted to make decisions. The whole world should be shocked and worried by this.

The guy has the nuclear codes FFS. He can’t even speak.

The president should not be some mentally handicapped puppet for people to control. He should have the nation’s best interests at heart.

I don't think anyone on here thinks he can be trusted with the most powerful job on the planet. Nor are people making excuses for him. But Trump is equally unfit for office with his behaviour.

You are comparing apples to oranges. (Literally).

Trump is sharp. You may disagree with him politically but he is no doubt a smart guy. He is able to make decisions.

You cannot have a puppet president. It’s embarrassing and dangerous.

Imagine what Russia and China are thinking watching this. I can’t believe my eyes

He responds to the things he dreamed up. Not to what anyone has said.

Give him an hour and a £50 bet and he won't find any comments of anyone celebrating Biden. Preferring him to Trump is like preferring a dead badger to an infectious disease.

In his post he stuck up for Biden and said he’s not a vegetable! It’s ridiculous - we can all see with our own eyes. Watch the tape. He can’t string a sentence together or walk.

If america was a sane country, the only option is for him to resign immediately.

Trump is a criminal. A felon. His state of mind is irrelevant. He is a repulsive human being who is equally unfit (for different reasons) as Biden.

I am not denying that trump is bad. I think it’s an embarrassment that he was there too.

But why are you making this about trump?

The leader of the western world is a vegetable puppet. Why does this not concern you?

This is by far the biggest issue that has arisen from last night. The next president doesn’t matter right now. The current president is unfit for office

I assume Os didn’t watch or listen to Trump rambling about sharks the other day. He most certain isn’t sharp. He is sharper than Biden but that doesn’t appear to be saying much - by the admission of all of Biden’s critics. The shortest dwarf and all that

Unfortunately Os might well have plenty of opportunity to become better acquainted with the whims of his true political hero should Trump win. Putin given a free rein over Europe. This is the big problem with becoming so obsessed with importing US talking point - the US have thousands more miles and a lot more sea (or frozen wasteland) separating them from Moscow. We do not

We rely on US NATO support which Trump has said he will withdraw. What happens then? I assume at the very least tax rises to pay for increased defense spending. But never mind - those will of course be Labour’s fault
