The rebuild was always going to be needed. I've said before Acun has made mistakes and so did Rosenior. We signed some guff, a lot of loans and already had some stuff to get rid of when possible such as Woods and Flemming. I'm not in agreement that rebuilds need monumental amounts of time to settle in. If we sign 12 new players in the next fortnight they will all have pretty much the same amount of time to understand what Tim Walters wants. A good manager will get the squad firing in 2 months. He is the key ingredient in all of this.
Well if it is Genuine then Acun did say he would not stand in the way of anyone wanting to go or it could be TW does not see him in his plans.
Those weren't our only options though. We could have wanted and supported him but we chose not to. It's done now and LR is the past but we have to deal with the fact that we didn't know who our manager would be for the first few weeks of the summer, so we can't have been in a strong position to add to our squad when others might've been talking to players who are now our targets, and the months of work that goes into signing players, as mentioned by others, must surely have been disrupted if not scrapped altogether. We can't be surprised that we're going to have to play catch up, that was always part of the deal.
I hope it's just a case of someone showing interest in our player which you can't help but I'm sure there's a number that puts a positive spin on it for anyone, what would that number be for people?
Someone will try. People tried putting a positive spin on Tufan going. I just think our entire transfer policy has been abysmal planning.
Well, it has to be profit doesn't it really? He'll be on a high wage too - probably with the expectation to get promotion, and that wage can't be sustainable for a full year in the Championship
I have been to a sponsors event at Hull City this morning and Andy Dawson was the guest speaker. He couldn't stress enough just how amazing Liam was in the way he worked. Tactics, detail, man management (staff and players). He said he has no doubts that he is going to the very top. Staff and players absolutely loved working with him. Said he hasn't met Tim yet but spoken on the phone a couple of times but all the staff who have met him have said he's a really nice guy who cares about people. They touched upon the Philogene to Barca but didn't say whether it's happening. They did say there will be departures though which we knew anyway.
I keep hearing this. ‘He’s on a high wage, we must sell him to balance the books.’ So we just sell every player who’s on north of £20k a week like Tufan, Seri, potentially Ömür etc.? £20k+ a week is the minimum going rate for a decent Championship player these days. We cannot build a squad capable of promotion with players on 5-figure wages per week. If it’s an FFP problem, then it’s a mess Acun himself has made.
People seem to be getting very worked up about Omur leaving, despite it being based on a single tweet from an account with hardly any followers.
I took a suit to be cleaned this week, when it came back I realized I'd left a tenner in the inside pocket. Bloody laundered money. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
