We could also name the amount of experience players that have been sh**e for us Its all about signing players that can hit the ground running this season, if there is a special player that we can bring in who doesnt have much experience but the recruitment team are 100% confident he improves us immediately then they should go for it 2 out if 3 summer transfer windows have been really good with this recruitment team so i have every faith we will be in a good place at the end of the window
Fair play for having every faith. I find it tough to feel the same after last summer when we were in a great position to kick on after a good season. Fans were right onside, fast forward 12 months and it’s not a great feel currently. Mowbray was pissing against the wind. Hopefully it’s different for Le Bris.
Bloke on the what the falk pod from France says le bris likes to play with a mobile centre forward, if he’s ’aligned’ with our plan you’d imagine that will be addressed, could Rusyn do it? Maybe, but I think Ross Stewart spoilt us so that’s the exact profile we’ll all be after, not sure how many of that ilk are about though
Hope to see Rusyn progress this year but I hope our CF is a new quality player and Jobe is his understudy.
I think we will definitely see a new forward come in with some experience behind him. Maybe a few gems in Ligue 1. I really like that Mo Bamba who Le Bris had at Lorient but he might cost a good chunk due to how well he did in a short time frame and his age. Parrott, Cannon or Al-Hamadi would fit that definition of a mobile forward too
I get that, im just thinking of the 2 cracking summers before where we got the balance spot on They focused too much on the future last summer so i reckon theyll get the balance right. As a few have said its encouraging that theyve gone for an experienced no2 GK, something we havent had last couple of yrs
Would be interested to see how Rusyn fairs from the left should Clarke go, there are similarities to broadhead
Exactly my thoughts, think he'd be a lot better as more of a wide forward than as a lone central striker
As daft as it sounds, we don’t necessarily need a forward that’ll score stacks of goals, but we need someone mobile who can do a bit of everything and free the likes of Clarke and Roberts up. We hit lucky with Stewart in that he could do everything and guaranteed goals, but someone who can at least make the ball stick and run the channels would make a massive difference to this team. I have no idea who that player is like!
A few have mentioned on here in the past, we don't need the usual journeymen who go from one Championship club to another in the attempt to get some experience. Ideally the new bloke can unearth some gems from overseas who have a few miles on the clock and can be a great help to the clear potential we have here. Gonna be an interesting summer for sure
Ben Johnson from West Ham looks like he’ll be Ipswich’s first PL signing. Really intrigued to see how McKenna fares next season. Wouldn’t be at all surprised to see them stay up
Tbf I didn’t think Stewart was that good of a finisher. Seems a daft thing to say after he got 10 goals in 13 games before his injury, but he always struck me as the type to rarely finish in the corner when one on one. Most of his goals came from his movement and work rate, hassling defenders and also getting on the end of crosses close in. We badly missed that persisting with Burstow & Hemir for example. I still have hope for Hemir but he really needs a kick up the arse.
Callum Doyle linked with a return to Coventry. Half the championship would be in for him if he was available for another loan, I’d imagine
They definitely look the best placed out of the promoted clubs to give it a go. By all accounts, because of the way they’ve managed their finances they’re in a position to spend a bit and give it a go. Good luck to them.
You’ve gotta be joking, some claimed they were ****ed money wise Absolutely daft. Fair play for the double promotion, it must be nice.
Nah pal, I think that was sour grapes. Understanding finances at that level isn’t my thing but I know someone that does and he said they look to have always been working within their constraints and have managed themselves great.
