Here's a thread for discussing changes to Football laws and rules, or addition of technology, down the years.

    I have four changes that I can think of immediately which are good ones in my opinion;
    1. Three points for a win
    2. Penalty shoot-outs
    3. Goalkeepers cannot pick up a kicked back-pass
    4. Goal line technology to say for sure whether or not the whole of the ball crossed the goal line
I can think of plenty of bad changes (in my opinion) - will list them later.

The one they still can't get right is handball for a penalty.

Yes, the play-offs have been good for the game <ok>

Embarrassing thing - playing a jingle over the tannoy when the home team scores <doh> <laugh>

    Good or bad?
Bad in my opinion, though I understand why they wanted to do it.
    But it doesn't work.

Very bad. I would love to see it scrapped.

I'd like to see them scrap the yellow card for taking your shirt off when celebrating a goal.

Petty rule in the first place.
What harm is there, a player temporarily taking off his shirt for a celebration.
It's needlessly punishing a spontaneous expression of joy.
Even after years many players still do it. And refs just look daft yellow carding them afterwards.
The rule commands no respect in my view, and doesn't encourage any.

The offside rule, forget interfering with play etc. If in an offside position that is it.
