Yep comfortable 4-0 win today and Gareth to admit he's been doing the old rope-a-dope in the games so far just to **** with Lineker and Shearer In reality I honestly don't know why he doesn't bring in Gordon on the left put Foden in at 10 and move Bellingham next to Rice. That seems much more natural to me?
He's got to start Mainoo or Wharton in the middle tonight, under threat of a public flogging in Trafalgar Square.
Basically all but confirmed it's your mate Gallagher coming in for Alexander-Arnold. Same leak from the first two team sheets that was correct. Should definitely give Wharton or Mainoo a go though and Foden should be dropped for Gordan if we aren't going to play him in the middle. We're desperately missing width on that left hand side. Really need Shaw to be fit for the knockout games, especially with Trippier playing with a calf injury.
2-0/3-0 to England, convincing display, shut everyone up, media build us up AGAIN, then knock us down on the Eve of the next game!
England will go two down after 25 mins....Southgate will storm off, taking the entire coaching staff with him, due to the abuse he's getting from the England fans..The ghost of one El Tel will appear above the stadium and guide the team. England will go onto win 3-2 with a goal in the 98min. However, because of the use of an unaccredited coach and Southgate refusing to do the post match presser England will be slung out of the tournament.
Every day is a school day, I see you're twagging again. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
There's just too much wrong - behind the scenes, in the squad, in Southgate's head. And when we're **** like this, we don't possess that win at all costs/fighting (clinging on) spirit that Italy, Argentina, Germany and others seem to have.
On this occasion the media have voiced their concerns over our less than convincing performances. That more or less mirrors the thoughts of the nation supporting them... We need a huge, organised, winning performance tonight. We all, media included, want this team to click and go into the knockout stages as a team to be feared. We've got the players,it's time to deliver!!!
To be fair, I think we have shown a grit and spirit which has got us the results we've got so far in spite of the performances. We've defended well and only conceded an absolute screamer. My concern is that defending well under pressure can only work for so long, and we need to find a way to be doing more attacking ourselves.
I’m not bothered if our left back is right footed. I’m bothered that he doesn’t regularly play there, is carrying an injury, is out of form and offers zero going forward. It unbalances the whole team. I’m baffled why there isn’t adequate cover to play a natural left back at left back. Mitchell from Palace would have been my choice. I’m absolutely dumbfounded why you’d take a player that’s been crocked since February. Who has an appalling fitness record and even if he doesn’t relapse won’t be game sharp for the duration of the tournament. And that’s just one position. I’ll be delighted to eat humble pie but it’s clearly obvious now that this squad is being badly mismanaged. Connor Gallagher anyone?
The decision to not take Mitchell, to not even put him in the preliminary squad in fact, is just moronic. Shaw’s been injured for months and was always going to be a huge doubt. Mitchell has been consistent and solid for Palace whereas Shaw is constantly injured and unfit and Chilwell is ****ing garbage.
As the shimmering apparition of Terry forms, Drakes Drum comes to life, as the legend tells it will when old England is in peril and beats out the tune of "World in Motion". The saintly ghost of El Tel drifts down to the technical area arms held out to gather the players to him. Gold jewellery dangling from his wrists and his blessed sun tan bathing the playing in an orange glow. In a gravelly voice laced with honey and steel that reverberates through the whole stadium he pronounces: "I'm the ghost of Big El Tel, And you boys have gone in your shell, Now ger' it forward, And give 'em hell"
Southgate played Chilwell in two of the pre tournament friendlies and he was appalling, nearly as bad as that Ralston clown. There’s no way he could have taken him based on those performances, he was worst player on the pitch in both games. He’d underperformed all season and is another sick note. He’s played 43 PL games in the past three seasons compared to Mitchell’s 108 appearances. He shouldn’t have been in the shop window, so to speak, it should have been Mitchell who was being looked at with a view of him being in the squad. I suppose Southgate didn’t fancy Guehi( our player of the tournament up to now) and Mitchell in the same side as they’d be inexperienced. Well Guehi has shown to be a very good operator at this level so far. If Mitchell had been selected you’ve also got the advantage that they know each other very well and both are in form. Southgate would rather take midfielders or strikers he’s got no intention of playing rather that an actual fit left back. He’s either a genius and is on another plane to the vast majority or he’s an absolute clown.
I think we’ll win tonight with a mediocre display and meet Austria in the last 16 where it will be goodbye England until the next tournament. A waste of some of this country’s best talent, down solely to the inept stupid twat ( apologies to those who don’t have a stupid twat ) masquerading as an England coach. I mean we need a change up and the word is Conor ****ing Gallagher!!! What the absolute ****, there is at least 5 other better and more talented possibilities and this dopy prick ( apologies for those who don’t have a dopey prick ) plays it apparently safe !!!!! I can hear his excuse now “ we tried but came up short “…….Tit !!
The problem with southgate is hes not changed his system in 6 years Englands problem in tournaments is scoring goals So many tournament games under southgate have ended with england scoring 1 goal Croatia Italy France Hes not adapted just changed personnel in the same role Look how spain have adapted to their younger players Spain use pacey wingers to overload the oppositions half England have arguably even better wingers than spain These euros have seen a resurgence in fast wingers on both sides And theres no side with a better set of wingers than england But southgate doesnt use them Southgate is just extremely pragmatic, he think its the best way to win a tournament, time will tell
