Not606 Newcastle Supporters Speed Tribute

Sorry if this has already been suggested but was wondering what everyone thought of temporarily changing our banner in tribute to the late Gary Speed? It may not be the grandest of gestures but would be from each of us on this board and for a time would allow us all to remember him each time we log on here to discuss his greatest passion - football.

 

It would be a great gesture and I'd be all for it but judging by last time it'll take a couple of months to get a new banner up.

 

Now there's an idea: rather than potentially upsetting the balance of the current one (which I'm perfectly happy to try tweaking btw adding Gary, I haven't had time to do so yet), I'd be totally made up to make a Speedo only tribute banner that could be used for a while. Don't mention such a crazy idea to Acid-Hippo as I think he's only just about recovered from the last banner change shenanigans!

I'd miss not seeing the faces of Tiote/Cabaye and Collo for too long mind! Wouldn't want to see the Gary tribute one up for ever mind...

 

To be honest I'd be all for this but theres no guarantee we'd be able to get in touch with Mick to change it and then once again to change it back.

I think the best idea would be a pic of Speedo on the opposite side of where Bobby's is added to it if possible, then we would only need it changed once.

 

There's scope for closing up the space to the right of Tiote and SJP on the right slightly to allow Collo/Yohan/Tiote to budge slightly off centre right allowing Shearer, Bobby and Speedo to sit around the crest.

It's a tricky one as I have another version of the current masthead with HBA slightly off in the distance past Collo and it really didn't look right to me...

 

Groundhog day. Just do it and put up a 48 hour poll for how long it should stay up as a fitting tribute. Cheers

 

OK, I'll aim to get something together and up this evening, I'm already in work and won't have time 'til then. That is of course unless things are a bit quiet at work!

 

I'm just going to remember Gary as the great player and guy he was.
