Coming up to 50% through the euros and a week to go to preseason already. The squad shape is going to start to take form If we sign up Adrian again quietly I won't be shocked but I will be disappointed. I expect kelleher to go and I expect tsimikas to join him. Konate? Who knows Gk alisson, Davies, pitaluga. Rb: trent Bradley Lb: Robertson, ? Rcb: quansah konate Lcb: vvd, gomez 6s endo, macca, bajcetic, morton (This needs work) Attacking midfield. Elliott, szoboszlai, Jones, clark, carvalho. Gravenberch. (Too many for one position) Lw: gakpo, diaz (look at Dutch gakpo) Rw: salah. (This is an issue now) St: nunez, jota, danns. Imo we have an impeding issue at lb thst might wait if we have to as cb might be more pressing. Imo we have a balance issue at cm if slot plays a double pivot as we.need better than endo. Imo we have too many attacking cms if slot plays just 1. Imo we have to find a forward line thst works reliably. We have players bit do we have 3 to rely on? I'd be happy to see not too many major departures for continuity (we've risks at cb for sure) but we need 2 players to arrive to push this squad on. A cm to partner macca.and real pace up front or at right wing. Understanding slots formation of choice and how the team will work comes first though. A lot of players.may not suit one touch football (jones)
He's got a style though. I think we can all see the imbalance in the team an inability to keep a clean sheet. Hopefully also the ingrown toenail fullbacks can.be cut out.
Good to Chelsea & Villa (and seen to be Everton and potential newcastle) completely ignoring why PSR rules are in place and just finding huge loop holes by buying each others academy players for over inflated fees just so can put the profit in this years financial records. Let’s ignore the fact that by doing so you’ve just kicked the money can further down the road while also helping to massively inflate transfer fees for other players and as such causing you to have to pay even more for the players you actually want which puts you in more danger of PSR rules meaning next year you need to buy/sell more of your academy players for over inflated fees so you can buy the players you want which will again cost more meaning the following year you again need to buy/sell more academy players…. You get the drift.
Juve and Barca got done by uefa for this I hope they throw the book at this lot when the accounts going to register for european comps.
Good. We need to move on from this hang over and clear these dead wood players. We've hired a keeping coach now so whether or not he's done badges we have not offered player coach. We really need every one of tje 17 allowed foreign players to be someone we want to play.
Yep, throw the book at any club that's trying to get around financial regulations. Rules are rules, break them and you deserve to be severely punished.
The way these clubs have gone about it is deeply cynical. Chelsea had developed (in whatever dodgy way) a youth system that generated mount, James, Hudson odoi, gallagher amd several others. Clearlake have come in and absolutely trashed it by buying 20 players for 20mil who have absolutely no ties to Chelsea amd have blocked youth progress. They have then seen local youth as cattle to profit off to balance the books for psr. It's not even a case of looking at who would bring most profit and selling on the player a big club might actually want and who has been at the club just long enough to run down some of the contract they have given. Same for villa now. The first thought is not to sell a good player but to sell off the youth prospects in a inflated value just to dodge the rules temporarily. The killer is that clubs like Brighton who've worked very hard in improving their lot and strategy to buy is very careful are getting stripped bare by the same clubs poaching staff and players away We are headed for year 15 under fsg. We are a different type of shark, no 16 year old seems safe as we load our academy up but we have built the revenues and stadium and boosted the squad value within the rules. I do find it astounding these owners are so impatient that they just want to run up massive debts on the various clubs and then complain about the rules designed to prevent that very thing.
Latest rumours - Ljinders wants Bobby Clark, Liverpool turned down a loan move for goalkeeper Mrozek to Vitoria SC.
Short of talent. He's just decrepit. He served his use the second kelleher looked good 2 years ago. We kept him.due to klopp.loyalty and it's high time to cut thst cord.
Mrozek is supposed to be going back to Poland on loan and we have refused rb club on Clark due to what they did to carvalho and are looming at Norwich as a location. As long as he plays it's good but it's not our job to please pep linders or do rb favours. If they want loans and access to our academy it won't be to do pep a favour.
He reportedly was offered a new deal and turned it down. (Everything in this thread is speculation and rumour so I don’t need to keep saying it and don’t assume I believe any of the rumours I post.)
