Absolutely. Robertson is quality but a left back can only influence the game so much. I like McGinn, but he doesn't have McTominay's quality. Having said all that, when Scotland had Dalglish, Souness, Strachan, McStay, McLeish, Cooper, Nicholas & McAvennie they still didn't qualify...
One of those for me that it's baffling that VAR didn't give it. That's VAR though I suppose, no more or less random than an old fashioned ref.
Tend to agree (although I think the player was looking for it) but Scotland weren't good enough across the 3 games. No complaints here, just a familiar feeling of resignation.
Scotland's success was getting to the competition and allowing the fans to experience the Euros abroad ... ... they had no chance of winning it and were in a group where all three teams were better than them. They weren't very good but they knew that before they went.
Didn't use VAR cos the ref was an Argentinian https://x.com/BBCSportScot/status/1805012366993572298?t=2TqMi_16IfamgoIutIMnzg&s=19
Me too. Doesn't matter how much noise and passion for Flower of Scotland....if the squad isn't good enough, failure is inevitable.
Denmark and Greece won the Euros unexpectedly. Scotland fans topped their group beating Spain along the way. The fans would and should have had hope going into the competition. Hungary have players like Callum Styles playing for them. Scotland were favourites to beat them and should have done so. Clarke let them down.
Maybe,I don't know.Have any other games had a non-euro ref? Or maybe it's just the final matches in the group.Interesting to see who's in charge tonight.
Not sure mate, I’ll keep my eye out. I did have a little giggle when I heard the Scottish fans after the game saying the ref robbed them. This after they’d been marching through Germany singing about Maradona and Argentina putting the English out.
