Came from a friend of a friend of the Gray family, to be announced July 1st. But don't know him personally to say whether its genuine could all be bollocks. But it's a rumour so thought I'd post it. Farke really wants Skipp and we're all out after him. The rumour mill is this, club want £40m for Gray, and allegedly Forest want Gnonto and have offered £16m,Leeds want £20m, those 2 would pave the way for Summerville to stay but only if he signs an extension to his contract, as he'd be worth only half of his value now, with just 12 months left. Could all be 2+2 = whatever but there could be some truth in it.
Don’t get me wrong, not dissing you, just couldn’t find anything from the mainstream journalists or the click bait sites. But guess we knew clubs would be after him.
I certainly wouldn't for one second put it as a 'it's happening' situation. The one thing that the club seem to want is as little disruption to the squad as possible, meaning selling fewer more expensive members of the squad, so selling 2 players to clear the debt and 1 more for the new acquisitions seems realistic. Farke did say he wants a bigger not smaller squad next season, 3 out 5/6 in perhaps
Gray and Gnonto out, Wober and Aaronson returning from loan would make sense with a couple of loan additions and maybe one new money signing
I’d like to think Archie would be happy to give us one more season (unless we need the transfer money). Again, the unknown is how much the RB investment changes what we need to do in terms of raising money.
I think I’d rather sell Summerville, I know it’s controversial but the opposition had his number the last 10 or so games and he really was poor
Think I agree with you but happy for him to stay. To be honest I just want all this done as quickly as possible so we can properly prepare for the start of the season.
Love Archie, but would prefer to sell him if we're talking £40m. I keep thinking back to Jack Clarke. What a difference a year can make. One broken leg later, or a run of poor form, & that's the £40m option out of the window for good. If his wee brother is as good as they say, he can replace Archie.
Think I posted this end of last season but I believe Farke's answer to everything was to get the players to just pass the ball to Summerville, liking it to school team stuff, it was easy for the opposition to counter. Very naive tactics and did nothing to change things during a game. Can't see that changing if Summerville stays.
Normally we’d be ecstatic trying to keep someone with Summerville’s stats, I was amazed that earlier on this season, the opposition continued to allow him the cut inside shoot top right corner. I started to think get promoted and the PL won’t allow you to do that. He has no other strings to his bow, Archie will become a far better player
What age must he be now. Wasn't it 20 years ago he played for us? Then again, if he's in his 40s & very injury prone, I can see why we're interested.
Just found out the Uruguay score & it got me thinking - have Leeds been in touch with Bielsa to see if there's some talent we might be interested in? Then again, we might need a truck to carry all the dossiers.
