Someone had to but Ince should have wanted it. Adams even but he was getting a round in.

Once a man steps up to anything it's on them... if he scored he'd still be licking his own arse to date.. he risked it all for that and lost out.

The other men were wise.

IKR, people losing their **** because England have pretty much qualified for the knock-out stage, but didn't do it in the style of Pele's Brazil (who went out in the group stage in 66)
If you watch football just for the results then welcome to a life of dissapointment. I don't want to see the crap Southgate manages to dish up. It's quite a talent to take players of the calibre of Bellingham, Kane, Foden, Saka and Rice and produce turgid football without commitment. Southgate had no track record and a CV with Middlesbrough as the highlight, wow! The FA always do the same picking the diplomat over a proper manager. No to Clough, no to Redknapp, avoid Allison.

No offence to Middlesbrough and sorry Bob Mortimer.

Such a tough guy. Keeps his jacket on until the last minute covering his colours. Then pretends he’s a lost Canadian tourist and then legs it away from the stadium <doh>

Would be happy for England to bore their way to a victory Denmark 92 style.

I support West Ham, we won a cup in Europe and have had our best period of sustained 'success' in 60 years, and you lot remind me of the whiney entitled idiots that talked **** on the West Ham forums for the last 4 years "we're getting relegated".
And, as you don't care about results, why do you support a team? Surely someone who just likes football for entertainment wouldn't stick to one, they'd watch the best sides, and that ain't Tottenham in any metric.
For me, I'd rather play **** and win than be Cruyff's Holland or Socrates Brazil.

West Ham says it all. REST my case

Can thank the self-proclaimed guvnor Paul Ince for Southgate having to step up in 96. McManaman and Anderson must have not fancied it either. And Venables for not making a sub in two hours of football.

Paul Ince, the biggest fake tough guy in football, ever.

August 2023. They then promptly got relegated.

Interesting appointment though, better than just getting a Hughes/Pardew/Bruce/Pullis/etc. The club often seem to be open to finding people/players who you wouldn't think of to try and progress rather than just making the "easy" appointment. I think that's a good thing.
Relegated after selling their best players off again and not allowing him to spend the money bringing in suitable replacements.

The season before he had them competing top half most of the season.

This is absolutely true... the fans hated Pardew from day 1. The bloke landed 5th then the club sold all the quality, replaced it with absolute ****e... then the fans simply pretended that didn't happen and went after pardew when they fell away a bit.<laugh>

They chased him out and got relegated... pardew saved Palace at their expense <applause>

I hate it but these are the facts.

Football fans are fickle. We know this mate.

Our fans hound a manager out of the club without giving him a chance if the owner has the audacity to appoint a manager that they wouldn’t have gone with. Then deny it and say he was sacked for being ****e. Beale was sacked after taking 7 points from his last 5 games.

I remember how Sir Bobby was treated in his last months by your fan base. They literally hounded him out of a job and then when he died he was a Geordie (he wasn’t) and one of your own again.

You're easily pleased though ... at least those Danes were comfortable in possession... reckon Trent had more misplaced passes in the last game than those Danes had in the whole of that tournament...
