    Not premier league opponents though?
We’re crying out for a right winger, he could be the answer.

Indeed but they should be able to see his abilities. I would imagine the situation went something like this.

The club "Eddie we've got to sell someone and it's either longstaff or minteh".

Howe "I've got to be able to work with a player and I have dinner with the longstaffs so sell the other guy Ashworth brought here"

But he's not though is he.

Burn is better at tackling, has better positioning, better heading and better decision making. Basically better defensive qualities. Hall is better at passing, crossing, dribbling, running and shooting. Basically better midfield qualities.

So lets look at PL facts.

Came on for 9 minutes when we were 8-0 up against Sheff Utd.

Came on at half time away to Bournemouth, we lost 0-2 (2 second half goals)

Came on away to Spurs we lost 1-4 we were 1-4 down at the time.

Came on at home to Fulham for 6 minutes we were 3-0 up (Dan Burn scored)

Came on for 5 minutes away to Luton - we lost 0-1 (were 0-1 down at time)

Came on for 11 minutes at home to Forrest - we lost 0-3 (we were 0-3 down)

Came on for 8 minutes away to Liverpool - we lost 2-4 (we were 2-3 down)

Came on for 4 minutes home to City - we lost 2-3 (we were 2-2 draw)

Came on for 33 minutes home to West Ham - we won 4-3 (we were 1-3 down)

Started at home against Everton - we drew 1-1 (we were winning 1-0 when subbed off)

Started away to Fulham played full game - we won 1-0

Came on for 2 minutes home to Spurs - we won 4-0 (we were winning 4-0)

Came on for 25 minutes away to Palace - we lost 0-2 (we were losing 0-1)

Started v Sheff Utd - we won 4-1 (we were 4-1 up when he was subbed off)

Started v Burnley played full game - we won 4-1

Started v Brighton played full game - we drew 1-1

Started v Man Utd played full game - we lost 2-3 (he scored)

Started v Brentford played full game - we won 4-2

    18 appearances (8 starts) (10 off bench)

We won 8 44.4% win rate
We drew 2 11.1% draw rate
We lost 8 44.4% loss rate

    He got 0 Assists.
    He got 1 goal.

    Dan Burn

    33 appearances (32 starts) (1 off bench)

We won 16 48.8% win rate
We drew 6 18.1% draw eate
We lost 11 33.3% loss rate

    He got 2 assists
    He got 2 goals

It appears that Hall has a larger loss % and a smaller win % than big Dan Burn <whistle>

You can drag out stats that don't mean anything all day long but anyone can see halls a far superior player.<laugh>

Just swallow your pride man..Burn was better at cb... he was getting rinsed week after week...Hall wasn't was he. . He won player of the month and shone brightly.

How the hell can you claim that? You and several others have literally seen him for a few minutes when the tv camera has been pointing at him. That's it.

Hall played regularly at Chelsea mate and we can all identify ability and get things right and wrong. The fact is we all saw what was happening at left back and we all finally saw Hall shine when he was given a run of games.

Forgive me for this, but this is a card you use quite a lot, but you don't know how much football people watch and just because you're fortunate to go (earned your right) doesn't mean your scouting ability is of more value... you're just a bloke in the crowd.

it's different at games I do accept that, but remind me how many of you suggested playing Joelinton in central midfield?

Let's all just accept Lewin is a player we probably need and be pleased we've got the players we've got.

So who's the right winger going to be ? Neto ? Would be a great signing.

What I'm pointing out is Hall is/was a left midfielder. It's where his strengths lie. It's where he played for Chelsea. It's the positions he was taking on the pitch. It has taken time to develop the defensive side of his game and you are trying to tell people he should have been playing regularly from the start of the season over a guy who I will agree went through a rough patch and was found out at times but who had up to that point been a solid player for us.

You refuse to listen to or accept other people's points of view - which in general are that he has potential, he has had some good games latterly but was disappointing in his earlier appearances at the defensive aspects of his game and in particular his positioning.

It can't be that hard to accept that a cameraman pans around following the ball most the time (or focusing on Hung) so the amount of time you have seen Hall on either the TV or highlights is not going to be the same as what people watching the game in the stadium see. I'm talking about the marking, the runs, the positioning. I can't work out how you can't suss that out.

I've even pointed out to you that the season stats show he's not as good as Burn's stats. His stats are getting better and he is improving but slagging the manager off just because he showed loyalty to a proven player who commands respect and has leadership qualities on the pitch is just crazy.

If this argument had been about Trippier and Liveramento I would have agreed with you, as he was far worse than Burn in my view. In my honest opinion it's Targett who should have been starting at left back.

As for Joelinton - I never said he couldn't play midfield as far as I'm aware. However he is still crap inside the area, so the same things that were said about him being a **** striker then, still ring true now, his composure is shocking.

Neto is great when he's up to speed and fit. Problem is how often he's injured. Not checked his injury history but things I've read recently suggests it seems to be reoccurring muscle injuries due to his style of play and speed.

Would love Chiesa - who will possibly have alternatives. Would be happy to gamble with Williams despite him appearing to be stronger on the left.

Seen some stories linking MGW and saying he could play out wide, personally think he's more a central player.

Isn't it yourself not accepting mine ? Surely you're at least guilty of your own convictions. We can't agree on everything it's OK to disagree.

The stats don't tell us anything mate.. comparing a few minutes here and there occasional starts in correlation with results isn't secret formula that scouts should be using that's for sure... it's the player.... what happened when when Hall was playing regularly? He played well and results improved... tbf Burn was also saved from the struggle and did well in his position.

I never said Hall was perfect but I'm saying he was and is a better left back the Dan Burn.

Neto would be a great addition.. he's got injury problems so might be able to get him... the big clubs may opt out... chiesa absolutely but I would be amazed....... I suppose he's had a bad injury.....we might get surprise.. but they can't spend what they can't spend and they can't make players want to come that have better options and for higher wages.

If we do sell Minteh then we simply have to buy a RW.

Miggy isn’t a top 6 player and neither is Murphy.

    What foot is Joelintons strongest?

Erm.......I've said I think he's good and that he's improved and he's going to get better........So I do accept your point of view to a large degree. The points I'm making is he's a better left midfielder than he is a left back currently. His skill set that he is better at then Burn is from the offensive aspect of his game.

He's better than Burn at dribbling.
He's better than Burn at crossing.
He's better then Burn at short passing and long passing.
    He's quicker than Burn.

    Burn is better at tackling.
Burn is better at heading .
    Burn is better at intercepting.
    Burn is better at jockying.
    Burn is stronger.

Hall will improve on those skills that Burn is better than him in. I can't see Burn improving on what he has as a skill set.

It can't be that difficult to understand.

No, no, no. You’re mixing with Hamish to much. <doh>

How on earth are those within the Club going to know things like that better, and I mean better, than those on this Board.

Yes, they may see them on a one to one, face to face basis. Yes they may have got direct feedback from the Club he played for last season. Yes they probably watched him play quite a few times last season. Yes they probably watched him train on many occasions last season. Yes they scouted him prior to him joining us and yes they will have had the opportunity to talk to him on numerous occasions. Yes they will have a great deal of experience in handling this sort of situation.

But really does that put the Club in a better position than those on the Board especially those that haven’t even seem him play to gauge whether he will make it? Honestly?

And don’t get me started on psr.
