There has always been an element of this approach since Howe arrived along with a few Stella signings when the money was available, however now because PSR has got the club by the balls all we've got left is the already discovered good lads Howe wants. I'm not even saying he's wrong, but where on earth are this managers finds? One is being moved on at the first opportunity... there's not one other signing he's made along with the recruitment team that demonstrates an ability to find a player.
You won't see Emery and Villa ****ing about... they needed money? right sell him and bring in x y and z..they've done well there imo . They’ve got money and some good players in return.
They're not even trying anymore https://www.caughtoffside.com/2024/...1_VAGx3R_GBMlEsrpU_aem_7IMLsL83UTXFIfCytVPgrQ "The report states the likes of Oleksandr Zinchenko, Emile Smith Rowe, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Eddie Nketiah could be involved in the deal as the Gunners look to move on a number of fringe players in the window." Yep, take our best player and shove some of your unwanted ****e our way, that'll work.
They're not offering the amount though, all the horseshit articles say they're going to offer lower. And they definitely won't sweeten the deal with crap players above.
That's what I asked you in the first place mate...Do you think a club will offer it ? Also is it possible Newcastle sell him below the release clause if they can't shift other players by the end of the month ?
Honestly, no. The Man City links were the strongest, and they've quelled now. No one seems to want to shell out the £100m for him, so thankfully it looks like we've priced him put the market. And no, we definitely won't sell below the release clause, that's just media horseshit.
If we really are struggling with PSR why don't we stop shopping in the Premier League and look for cheaper deals abroad, it's like complaining you have no money for food when you only go to Waitrose.
To be fair he put Liveramento in at left back for a bit and he did well there. It's hard to know when to drop someone. I can understand hindsight being a great tool. I also understand most were saying Burn was being targeted at the time. Question at the time was is this the midfields fault? because he wasn't being offered the same protection he normally was as Joelinton was missing. Think it was a mixture personally as he always positioned himself more central when defending (becoming a 3rd centre back) and allowed Joelinton to engage the threat out wide. I think Hall will turn out to be a good player eventually, but as is often the case there are far too many that are desperate for our youngsters to do well and defend them to the hilt and make out they're better than what they currently are. Nothing wrong with defending them, they're going to make mistakes. It's part of the learning curve, but trust me, Hall was at 6's and 7's loads of times, miles out of position. Anderson is not the Geordie Maradonna, and whisper this one quietly too. Miley is also massively over rated currently. Same thing is happening currently with Minteh. Christ it wasn't that long ago people were demanding Woodman started and he was a bucket of **** too. As was boat loads of others.
Hall is world class in comparison to Burn at left back both going forward, backwards, side to side! maybe not upside down or inside out because Burn gets turned upside down and inside out every week there. Honestly hindsight really wasn't required for me on this one... I was becoming increasingly annoyed and Howes decision to bring dummett on instead of him and throw away a result was the penny dropping moment for many.... many people just knew. I remember people on here declaring that Hall must be a mistake etc and they bought a dud... it was nonsense! Someone at the club really wanted him based on watching him play regularly.. the manager just didn't want to drop Burn at left back.. if not for injuries Burn would still have been at left back all season without a doubt in my mind. Burn? He was great at cb when moved too so there's another issue I have with the management of that situation. The manager has got plenty right and he's doing very well, but he had all that wrong and what followed demonstrated it.
Yes this is becoming increasingly strange.. where are the finds ? Minteh is the only one and someone couldn't wait to loan him out and flog him at the first opportunity.
They shouldn't really need to because they should and will have been watching him allast season. I agree with you though... howe would just manipulate the situation accordingly like he did with Hall though.
