https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cyxx6p9zlreo Feckin hell that guy's name is awkward. And weirdly his first name is very simple.
It also seems bonkers that we are about to sell one of the hottest prospects we have ever had and spend the money on DCL? That doesn’t make much sense to me.
Am I missing something here? His scoring record is ****e for a striker. Last season he managed to be fit most of the season, unlike the previous 2 which he was injured for over half of both teams, and he really didn't score many. And he's nowhere near the England squad any more. Would we just be replacing Wilson with another crock who scores much less?
Since Howe came in there was always a voice demanding this kind of player. It's become louder and louder and louder. I don't mind it, but if it doesn't work they'll be in trouble. Where are the finds ?
Yes you are ! You're missing the fact Newcastle don't have anyone that can do the job he does, the fact he's cheap and that he's a good player. He's stock being bought at the right time.
BTW once we've signed Trafford and lewin and having added Kelly already there's only 1 to go at cb. Olise we lost out on and they won't just buy anyone at that price... it's unlikely they'll bother imo.. if the right player wasn't possible forget rw.
Anyone watching Mamardashvili (Geogia vs Czech Republic) - He's worth whatever Valencia want from what I've seen. No point going for a young and upcoming gk like Trafford imho who'd be playing second fiddle to Pope. Big Mama is 23 and streets ahead of Trafford or Pope already, I pray they go all out to sign him.
I think he's looked ****e. Flaps a lot and **** with his feet. Better ball control than Pope but doesn't hit his intended target much at all. As for DCL, I really don't think some people realise how hard it would be to convince an elite striker to sign as a number 2 behind Isak. It just isn't going to happen.
I think some people hoped our scouting network would extend beyond Everton, Burnley, Leicester and Bournemouth by the third year of PIF ownership. I’m fully aware of PSR restrictions - none of which extend to scouting networks. There is a definite resistance to foreign recruitment following EH grabbing more power. It’s unlikely to be a coincidence that we still have no replacement for Ashworth yet Howes nephew has been promoted. That keeper is far from ****e, but I’d like to see Newcastle be the one to pick him up for £1.5m which is what he cost a year or two ago, it’s this lack of finding talent im finding irritating which then makes moves for bang average plodders like Trafford, Kelly and DCL harder to stomach.
Why would we announce Ashworth's replacement when he can't do anything this window? It's too late. We're also going through an employment tribunal with the little ****bag. Minute we announce a replacement he'll claim constructive dismissal. The DCL deal where we sign him and they sign Minteh works out for both clubs. We bank an immediate £40m whilst amortising DCL over 4 or 5 years, they bank an immediate £25m whilst amortising Minteh.
I have to agree with this, but I'm still hoping the scouts get a top player past Howes rubber stamp, but the plan seems to be total Howe this window.... Howe is like a health and safety officer at heart.... a Tunnocks caramel if you like. Hall was clearly one and my word he's going o be frozen out again I feel..Minteh is being sacrificed he's a other than ashworth got in. Is howe manipulating things toward his own gain ? Probably it's fairly standard..
