I see in various press reports to day that Arsen Winger is still bemoaning he teams result against Fulham,no gracious credit for a team that surprisingly held them, and matched their work level. "Oh we had to play midweek", what about us,and all the matches we have played,no excuses from our management when results were not going our way,due to midweek fixtures. It is also very noticable when any of the top sides are held,by the unfashionable, how those sycophants on M O T D still try to ingraciate themselves with those they perceive to have a winning right. Come on you overpaid semi illiterates, let those that watch the highlights draw their own conclusions.
If he did not credit us, then its disappointing. Arsene Wenger is a good manager, but developed into an art-form the ability deflect to other excuses - referees, playing midweek etc.
It's always the case with those idiots at BBC. Apologies for being rude but they don't make it easy for themselves. Only John Barnes at ESPN said that this is b**ls**t regarding mid-week playing. At the end they also said well played Fulham.. And we did! At least we have an excuse on Monday against Liverpool! But we won't need it... Lol
The BBC have to give a service to the majority of their license-fee-payers (i.e. fans of the big clubs) and massage their egos. As a club we're no strangers to being ignored, can't see it changing any time soon. Wenger probably still has a Sparky-shaped chip on his shoulder from last season.
Sparky-shaped chips? I think I missed that particular merchandising inovation from the catering department. I bet they taste bitter.
I read somewhere (can't remember where) that despite offering various excuses as outlined above Wenger also said "I said before the game that Fulham are a good side and I haven't changed my opinion about that". Not fulsome praise but an acknowledgement how well we played. I can't believe I'm defending Arsene! PS Ha ha re the chips Captain!
Wenger rarely admits his team were bested or matched. He is very keen to blame the ref, the other teams style of play, the tiredness of the players and just about anything he can think of before he remembers that the other team might have contributed to his side not taking all three points. He is brilliant, but not the most gracious of managers and is a very, very poor loser.
