Agree. For me he's the best finisher we've had at the club at this level since Keith Edwards.

I support him as much as anyone but it annoys me that certain players have different standards to others. If Adebola missed even one chance of the simplicity that some of Fryatt's earlier this year were he'd have been publicly shamed in Victoria square because the fans decided ages ago that he was going to be crap. Matty missed a ridiculous number of them and at the time was bloody useless to us, but got away with it.

He's a good player, he's playing well at the moment and I don't want to be seen as his biggest critic, but some consistency needs to be applied to our strikers.

I'm asking if Matty Fryatt scoring six goals in the last eight games has been surpassed by any other striker in this league?

I don't actually know the answer, but I'd take a punt on it being the best form in the league at the moment.

Hence your 'had a million chances this season and missed nearly all of them' is somewhat inaccurate, as is the assertion that he's not a natural goalscorer, he's scored 16 in 39 appearances since he joined us, we haven't had that sort of strike rate since Stu Elliot left.

He's a class act, we just need another all round striker next to him. I like McLean I really do, just can't stick it away. Hope he comes good sooner rather then later, otherwise he could be replaced.

I think you've missed my drift. I love Fryatt, he's scoring goals for us, all is well.

It was someone who sutton knew that said he isn't a natural goalscorer, I basically said it depends what the criteria is. If we're talking about finishing and chance/goal ratios then Fryatt this season must have about the worst record in the league. He's had countless one-on-ones where he completely forgot to shoot and it seems to have gone overlooked, McLean missed a similar chance once last season and it will never be forgotten. As for Adebola, he only has to make the bench to be the primary culprit of every point we drop.

Nonetheless, he's back playing well now and it's all good. So I'm not sure what the debate is. I don't think you'd deny he was playing very poorly, so we all agree and it's all good.

Also, I haven't worked it out but I don't think Fryatt has scored 6 in 8 (not that it matters, just being pedantic)

    Matty Fryatt 35(4) 16 - 0.41 gpg
    Aaron Mclean 28(10) 6 - 0.16 gpg
    Dele Adebola 2(7) 0 - 0.00 gpg
    Martyn Waghorn 5(0) 1 - 0.2 gpg

We have no other striker who comes close to Fryatt, other than possibly Waghorn, who hasn't had the chance to show it yet and probably never will.

What sort of consistency are you looking for, the sort where we pretend our weak strikers are better than they are? :emoticon-0112-wonde

Cardiff, Watford, Barnsley, Derby and Burnley(2), with Brighton, Forest and West Ham being the games in the last eight that he didn't score in.

Just if the name of pedantry. <ok>
