You can judge the process, you can judge what Speakman has said and failed to deliver in terms of continuity and succession planning, you can judge previous appointments and previous decisions. It's 45 days since the end of the season, 3 weeks (I think) since our apparent main target turned us down. No other club is going on like we are.
Just guessing allied to a horrible feeling; because they seem unable to get who they want - Dodds until winter break? I know, I know! Not my fault! Could be worse - Dodds permanent! Nah, they would never do that to us - would they?
I'm reading that as club trying to find a role for Dodds after he's been promoted to high. Both parties need to agree or there's a problem with compensation
I'm genuinely concerned we get to a point where Speakman actually HAS to go to convince any manager to take us seriously. I do want Speakman to go. I don't however want us to get to the point where its a necessity.
Leicester have only been managerless for 15 days Burnley have only been managerless for 20 days Took Brighton 29 days to appoint their manager Sunderland 120 days and still no sign of one. Can't really compare them
Just given myself a good shake! They are genuine owners who want the best for the club. I think they will be as concerned as we are at the chief coach situation. Whoever we get will be the best they can get; maybe not our choice, but the best they can get.
Top two lost theirs fairly recently and received massive compensation for them. Leicesters season starts later than ours and Burnleys ended later than ours. What I would say is that Burnley look like they will be hiring a head coach to work with existing coaches and are about to appoint a new assistant coach before the new head coach. Also talk they might just give it to Bellamy who's already there. So it isn't just us in the championship that work like that. A good appointment can absolutely turn everything around and a good window could propel us into a promotion challenge. I'm of the belief that both will happen, just don't want it to be so late that it effects preparations.
I think they are genuine. It can't be denied that things haven't been going right so far in 2024 but I wonder if anyone who wants rid of them have pondered on the comparisons between the current owners and people like Donald & Methven, Michael Knighton at Carlisle, Chansiri at Wednesday, Dai Yongge at Reading, Peter Ridsdale and his profligate spending at Leeds, or even the owners of the exercise in propaganda up the road.
