West Brom had quite a few chances, Brunt had a very good one and Odemwingie had a good headed chance just after he came on, for example. I'd say that we probably had more, though. Adebayor could've easily got 4 or 5 himself. According to the Guardian, he became the first player in the last 5 years to have 9 shots on target in a single Premier League game.
Not guilty M'Lud. The "Spurs news and Rumours" come directly from the Spurs website I think and if I've missed something obvious then I'm sorry. So who or what is this source?
Ok PNP and that is what concerns me. He had 4 or 5 chances and made very hard work of a penalty and the one he scored was not convincing. I don't think he is on top form because of this. He missed a fair few against Villa and went 6 matches without scoring. Yes he's provided but I'm watching him closely. Their goal was excellent and because it was a good goal I'm betting that their scorer scores more like that whereas we might have to put up with more frustration from Ade until he finds top form.
I sincerely doubt that Mulumbu's going to outscore Adebayor, TMT. He's scored 10 goals in 74 league games for West Brom. Adebayor has already scored 7 in 10 for us with 6 assists. He may miss chances, but he creates a hell of a lot more for both himself and others.
TMT, that's what we're asking you. You're quoting someone, MF, that I and it seems others have never heard of, as if s/he's some kind of authority. Meanwhile, you continue with this criticism of Adebayor who is not only scoring but making goals. HE SCORED TWO and had ONE ASSIST in an AWAY Prem game, and you keep going on about those he missed.
As we've discussed before he brings a lot more to the team than just goals. A lot of people commented upon finally seeing him play for us that his close control and passing were a lot better than expected. Goals aren't everything which is why Berbatov was dropped when he was the top scorer last season.
GHoddle,I've already posted that I only know the source as MF and nothing more. I'll see what I can find out. PNP,I'm not saying that he will out score Ade only that if he scores good goals like that then he will continue to score like that regardless of how many.
http://www.spurs-web.com is where he comes from. And their members voted Ade man of the match. I enjoyed today at work, which is rare. Little digs at the Man U and Man C lovers after every swig of coffee. Our form is something to sing about. Long may it continue
I'd rather have a player score 10 crap goals than 1 good one, TMT. I'm not really sure what you're getting at, here. If you're criticising Adebayor's finishing, then it's a valid point. He does miss more than someone like Defoe. He creates about 3 times as many chances though, so he'll still score more goals, in my opinion.
Now if you look at that link you'll See "Worthy of applause" by MF. Calm down GHoddle. Yes PNP,I am criticizing his finishing a bit.
That would have been a terrible stat if it wasn't for a missed penalty rebound and an 'in off' via the keepers foot! Its a numbers game, the more chances, the more likely one will go in...somehow!
Right now Inda provided the link with MF there so that's explained. In the live match thread Spurs posters were saying "Ade should have scored there" etc GHoddle so please don't single me out. I'm not totally convinced yet by Ade but I'm not criticizing you or anybody else for being satisfied with him.
Its the life of a striker TMT, all our strikers each had a market value of about 50p last season for missing everything, and being generally ****. Ade whilst missing and not scoring is still an integral part of the goals that do go in. When Crouch (used to) JD and Pav have a blank, its usually because they've been generally anonymous.
I have never heard of him before. Sorry wasn't having a dig, just the way you mentioned him initially made it seem as if we should all know who he was, when it appears no one else has heard of him... The wasn't malicious, just sarcastic...
Ok notsosmart,I agree totally with everything that you post there especially about the other strikers and yes he provided Defoe with the ball that allowed him to score the sort of goals that I like so I'll relent a bit. I'd like him to score two on Saturday just to totally convince me that he is on form. Luke, that's the first bit of sense that I've seen you post either on here or on the old BBC 606. I was 'Dark Side of the Moon' on there and quite frankly you were just a wum. If he does score 25 or more I'll be happy. Ok Wandering. No offence taken but there he is on the link Inda provided.
Thanks to Inda for providing the link, so it's just another Spurs website with fans like us, hardly an authoritative source is it? Nothing wrong with us fans giving our opinions, but you may as well quote KH, PNP, GH or TMT for that matter. Here's a link to some facts http://www.myfootballfacts.com/Tottenham_Hotspur_Players_Statistics_2011-12.html This shows Ade has 12 goals and assists in the Prem this season, FOUR more than his nearest rival VDV who is one of the most clinical finishers I have seen in watching Spurs for over 50 years. Furthermore, Ade has a better strike rate of goals and assists per minute than any of our players, even when including the EL where Ade hasn't played.
I saw that and changed my post TMT. See my edited reply now I'd be grateful if you change your language BTW. I'm finding it stretching myself to the limit to keep up with your comments on Ade and quoting sources like 'MF' and stay polite. If you can't do the same, I'm sticking you on ignore, because frankly, your comments on Spurs and Ade during this fantastic run we're having are irking me somewhat
Ok Ghoddle but he's there every day and I thought he was some Spurs authority or something. It was the miss against Arsenal and the 6 matches without scoring which concerned me quite a lot especially after our striker's form last season. Ok,I've said I'll relent a bit, you've convinced me. Two goals against Bolton though and that's just from him.
