He's got 3 years left on his contract. We hold more chips than you think. We have other sellable assets not just Greaves as well
I think it will depend on just who the six other clubs are. Maybe some would be a more attractive proposition for him.
I think Greaves is worth more than £20m. Young proven English Centre Half. Comfortable on the ball. A number of clubs interested and a good length of contract remaining. I wouldn’t be selling for anything less than £20m.
Maybe you wouldn’t. But you don’t own the club and the person who does might. Though I hope he doesn’t. But the need for cash and FFP might force his hand.
You can think what you want, but the market will determine the fee. The fact there's 2 or 3 prem clubs interested helps the cause.
I think if it is Everton, and they get big money for Branthwaite, we will be well placed to get a good fee. They would be desperate for a like for like replacement and Greaves is probably as good as they could get. I actually think he would do well there too, Dyche would help his defensive game and they will probably be around midtable I reckon.
"Every Championship signing made by Hull City and their rivals in transfer window" Got excited for a moment. Thought I'd missed something! Nope, just typical HDM. Come on Baz, you're much better than that (**** misleading headline). Hull City IN None https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/spo.../every-championship-signing-made-hull-9344459
I would be asking for £30m for Greaves and considering £25m if they offered it, otherwise they can GTF.
Ben Gibson went from Boro to Burnley in 2018 for £15m after four Championship seasons and a Premier League season. Ben White had one PL season for Brighton and Arsenal paid £50m for him in 2021. I’m quite sure that if Greaves goes, £20m up front should be a minimum.
Ben Gibson made 1 appearance for Burnley before going out on loan to Norwich for a season and being bought by them the season after for £8 million. Something which brings out some very expletive laden comments from my Norwich supporting acquaintance, especially the fact he is on about £40,000 a week. Not very good business by Burnley, a club record signing who was sold after playing 1 game for a loss of £7 million and the cost of his wages.
If he isn't expect an undisclosed fee announcement. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
