The Foden situation is looking interesting. He's a fantastic player but in the current system his contribution in incomparible to Saka on the other side. I'm biased but suspect that Gordon would be creating more havoc on that side, he's not as good a player but I think he'd do a better job at the role they're being asked to play.
Support looks impressive anyway. I have a frog and a yank in the house with me currently so quite happy to watch in silence so long as they don’t try to talk to me ffs
Really, really, really intelligent there from "Trent", as he just about makes a pass to an actual team mate.
Decent first half that. Tailed off a bit in the final 5 mins or so but other than completely bossed it. Saka’s had their FB on toast. We’ve just gotta be better with the final ball and getting one or two more in the box.
Could it be all the best moves are down the right cos Saka has the left back on toast, and very little down the left because Trippier isn't getting forward like Walker...
I was happy to try it out but both TAA and Foden have been minor issues in the first half (as has Kane but he just needs to pop up when we need him. Do we sacrifice Bellingham a touch by dropping him deeper for the good of the team? Bellingham would be better than TAA in Mid, anyone who can play the wing would be better than Foden on the left and the only "downgrade" is Foden coming in for Bellingham in the 10. Think it's a much stronger play all round.
Gonna submit some reverse jinxing to help out Hazza ... "We'll be even better second half when we bring the world class Harry Kane on ... "
I thought we played quite well. Better than I expected. Either they’re **** or we’re making them look like a bunch of cloggers. Get a second and they’ll fall apart like Yugoslavia.
The BBC hasn't got some random bird talking **** at half time so they've drafted that **** Micah Richards to do it... **** is a fraud.
He’s popular with the yoof and you are not the yoof. Rio should be at home flicking through Bumble replies.
Oh there's no doubting that Walker as RB is a massive upgrade on Trippier as LB. It's not Trippiers fault though that he's been picked to play there, he wouldn't have been my choice (in my mind he's the 3rd best English LB at Newcastle let alone for England). We're currently looking slightly one dimensional though and need to find a way to probe all across the park.
