Been reading a bit about here, France and Italy and it appears the far right are on the rise again, especially in Europe. Or am I misreading the articles?
Populism is the far right way of doing things. See Trump in US, Farage here and their counterparts in Europe. Hitler started it in the 1930's.
I will happy if some adults can get a grip of things, have the awkward conversations and actually put in place policies that help everyone. As i posted before if I have to pay an extra £20 a month to help fund the NHS or other services those less fortunate need, then so be it
Our friend Thatcher drilled into people that "there is no such thing as society" and that we are all individuals. This has led to the selfish world we now live in and the sod everybody else I'm alright Jack mentality. Fine if you are rich, not so much if you aren't
We have had the same government for 14 years? Not sure how that means the far right have started to rise
I thought we were talking about Europe, sorry. They've always been a bit more inclined to that kind of thing.
Well it's Europe but also here. I'm.suprised the far right gain traction on here on a tag line of stopping non English people coming here
It's been rumbling along for years. Not an issue and everyone complaining is racist when it's only the poors it affects, but when it starts to spread to the more affluent areas, support for stemming the flow increases. A sensible conversation has never been possible on this, so people are forced to the extremes.
Yes, but let's get back to an NHS with services run mainly "in house" not a heavy proportion of funding going out in profits via private providers.

Some interesting stuff in the Reform manifesto. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/0/reform-uk-manifesto-richard-tice-key-policies-glance/ How much of it would be achievable though.
