Not according to speakman since our whole model and system is about being able to still make signings with changes in head coaches
Few posters on here live in Scotland if anyone’s seen much of him? Apologies if already commented I couldn’t find anything
Had a search and found this from Scout, back in March: “Bair (sic) is having some season, was shocking when i saw him at st Johnstone but seems to have totally kicked on - still not convinced hes got what it takes to play championship football but 100% the type we should be looking at - a presence” Mar 7, 2024
His stats prior to this season are awful mind, but Stewart’s weren’t great prior to coming here, maybe he’s just had his break through season and now’s the time to get him for the lowest possible fee?
He looks absolutely ****e to me mind. Proper lower league plodder having a purple patch. St. Johnstone released him on a free last year and he's suddenly in demand because of 1 "good" season. But 15 goals in SPL (3 pens) isn't a record that screams prolific to me
22/23, 27 games but only 6 of them starts and total of 598 minutes played. Compared to this seasons 38 games with 31 being starts, 2650 minutes played. Looks like he's been given a good run of games and it's lead to him finding some form.
I know the point of highlights is to show the best of players and it’s a very small sample of footage but dare I say there’s similarities to Stewart there? Gets involved in the play, quick, strong and looks canny in the air
Annoying because it was my previous account but I said he's the closest thing to Stewart within our price range. He's not perfect at all and there's definitely better out there but he'd be an improvement on the forwards we have now and has room to develop.
Most importantly he’s better than we have, if he can be an outball, foil for others and chip in with 10-15 goals that massively improves us immediately, a decent 9 adds goals to our number 10 and wingers
He puts himself about and has the mobility you need in a championship striker - but i do worry about his link up play and clinical edge Some strikers are late bloomers, plus st johnstone are dreadful (play some of the worst football I've ever seen last couple yrs). In a weird way id actually prefer him to shankland - shankland is 100% the better finisher but i really worry about his mobility to play at championship level. If shankland went to a team that will dominate the majority of games then he will do well but i just dont think we will be that type of team next season. I def wouldnt be against this signing but it depends on the style of play - if we want to press high and from the front he would be ideal but dont think he suits a possession based team
Seems a real mixed bag from the people who’ve seen him, would we be in a stronger position if we say our 3 strikers next year are Rusyn, Mubama and bair? Think there’s definitely a case for it, get Hemir and mayenda out in league 2 in a promotion chasing side if possible
