Never in doubt… now the proper tournament starts. too many teams in this WC just not good enough. Scotland showing they are good enough to compete but teams like Uganda Oman papa New Guinea just now there yet.
Some interesting teams not going through to the super8 though. Pakistan, Sri Lanka, New Zealand all heading home. Sri Lanka yet to even win a match. But Afghanistan and USA going through, with Bangladesh most likely.
Really poor performance. Proper mixed tournament. Got to the semi final But they beat Oman Namibia & USA comfortably. As well as WI. But then lost to South Africa australia and India and we’re very mixed against Scotland. Much like the football team, when we came up against a decent team we struggled.
In the end England are just no longer very good so getting the the semi is ok. Butter as captain is deeply unconvincing and honestly there's a mix of bowling issues and matting issues to solve. You have to have the batting to score the runs and there's too many gaps there but the bowling has dropped.massively over time and it runs right through all forms.
