Quite a few rugby players as well. You do wonder if it the strain they put on their bodies physically, or some other factor?
Rugby players in particular are expected to be bigger, faster and more physical. Just look at them now compared to 30/40 years ago. You have to ask if that is a natural progression, "something else" or an excess of physical work and development? More than their bodies are designed to do. Football less so although more speed and distances covered are regarded as essential. Hence more heart related problems coming to the fore.
Just been listening to comments on the radio about Mbappe's 'broken nose'. Enough written about it as well. Hospitalised with a broken nose. Mask in production. Bloody prima donas. Why hospital?. Havent they got doctors and physios in their backroom staff? Poke, prod. Yep, broken nose, crack on.
Ah but his nose is probably insured for several million Euros, so they probably want to be seen to be looking after it or fall foul of their insurance policy if they decide it's a write off after the tournament!!
It was the petulant way he walked on to the pitch and sat down that got me. Ref should gave given him a red rather than yellow. He could have had a couple games off to recover then. Never mind, he'll have 'the phantom of the opera' look about him for the next match.
Portugal v Czech Republic is a decent view but being for me totally ruined by no not the female commentator but the patronising and irritating constant verbal diarrhoea of Danny Murphy. FFS Shut up
And Murphy said ‘I don’t understand bringing substitutes on so late in the game’. Then the substitute scored. And Murphy said’ They’re not going to disallow that goal’ Then they did for offside. And Murphy said’ That wasn’t a foul’ and then he corrected himself as it was. And that was all the in the last ten minutes, which is all I watched. Glad I didn’t have to suffer the full 90 plus minutes of that drivel Nin.
