Didn’t we have some kind of worm issue once, they blamed the poor state of the pitch on the wrong type of worm.
All the sub soil was removed then too, think that was more recent than Brucey years

Don't know why they haven't re-done it way before now, it only takes 37 secs ....

I'm no expert but I can't imagine a new pitch would bind very well with sand. I suppose they know what they're doing though.

Isn't the new pitch interwoven with millions of plastic blades to make it more resilient?

I'm sure there was an article about the company laying it talking about it but I can't find it now.

I thought that was pretty standard for professional pitches, especially in the top two divisions?

Yes I would have thought so. We must be getting something for the 1.5 mill they have spent.

You'd think so, 1.5m would get you about 55 football pitches-worth of Rolawn. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

The old pitch was supposed to have plastic blades in it. :emoticon-0125-mmm:

The old pitch had exceeded it's life expectancy according to Tan so maybe all the plastic bits had worn out.

As you may have guessed I no grass expert. Unless we're smoking it.

Went on the pitch when we got promoted vs Cardiff in 2013. You could see that the pitch had some sort of lattice in it, probably plastic.

If you recall, we had a 16 minute wait before realising we had achieved promotion as a result of Leeds beating Watford, followed by mass celebrations. There were quite a few on the pitch at the end.
Hull City 2-2 Cardiff - BBC Sport

Notice Liam Rosenior in the celebrations

It is certainly a lot better than in previous Julys. Of course some feckers involved were sacked.
