Signing him would be beyond disappointing, think he’s scored double digits in a top league once in his career and he’s 26. 1 league goal for Roma last season and injury prone.
Law's phrasing is...well it's odd, isn't it? West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are all in the market for strikers this summer, and are all aware Abraham could be attainable. Spurs have not made a firm decision on whether or not to move for Abraham yet, while Villa are only likely to start seriously trying to fill the position if Jhon Duran completes a move to Chelsea. None of it says we have any interest in him, it's saying we might be considering the possibility of perhaps having an interest in him, which is a polite way of saying Law threw our name into the article to ragebait some engagement for an utter nothing of a story The real story is buried in the last sentence of the story: Roma need to raise cash quickly to meet Serie A's FFP requirements, because for some strange reason their wage bill bloated like a motherhumper in the last couple of years, and I can't think of any very specific reason that is not at all surprising In unrelated news, I understand that Leandro Paredes has a year left on his Roma contract...
Been thinking about it and will stand by my earlier conclusion. The absolute worst signing I've seen in my lifetime. And what makes it worse is that the useless lump leaves Spurs with two league medals.
That's an achievement in itself when you consider some of the players that we have signed in recent years. I realise that a lot of it is about the fee we paid but to be considered worse than all of: Sessegnon, Lo Celso, Spence, Doherty, Gil, Bergwijn, N’Koudou, Janssen, Fazio, N'Jie, Paulinho, Soldado, Holtby, Bentley, Nelson, Pienaar, Dos Santos, Hutton, Gilberto, Rocha, Davenport, Brown, Davis, Raziak, Reid, Postiga and Zamora is truly awful.
Football BSider claim that Genoa are offering a loan-to-buy bid for Djed Spence It's almost as if they realise there's zero chance of us bidding for Gudmundsson with the sexual assault allegations hanging over him ...and then along comes Romano to say otherwise
He forgot to mention Saib, Dominguez, Korsten, Rebrov, Mabizela, Pamarot, Ghaly, Atouba, Taarabt, Boateng, Naughton, Fryers, Chiriches, Sanchez and Richarlison. Have a great day
Bit harsh on some there tbh... Korsten was wrecked by injuries iicr and Ghaley was very good at times...he wrecked his time with us by throwing his shirt on the floor after being subbed off while we were losing a vital end of season game where we were fighting for top 5 iirc.
Yeah that’s the saddest thing about Ghaly, was actually a really decent player but royally ****ed it all with that strop.
And whilst we are in the mood for reminiscing about awfulness none of the players mentioned in these posts ever put in a single performance as bad Winks as a substitute in the cup v Everton or Lenglets at City last season!!! Though Sanchez last 10 mins v West Ham did come close.
I was there for Gilberto's debut and for that Bentley performance in the NLD league cup match in 2009
I think that is because we signed Astrud Gilberto (sang "The Girl From Ipanema") rather than the guy that played for Brazil.
