@lardiman On a serious note, before judging, watch Nathan Jones interview on the club channel earlier this week after we signed the keeper. He talks about how he has spent the past 4 weeks - driving up & down the country, carrying out proper due diligence on our new signings. What a refreshing upgrade in standards. Either NJ has delivered the finest acting performance since Charles Hawtrey in Carry on Up The Rear, or else we are onto a good thing with this manager. If it was Appleton and ITTV pin up boy Andy Scott in charge of transfers still, I could understand your gloom ..
It didn't take Stoke and Saints fans too long to work out that NJ is all talk. His win % outside of Luton is shokin juss shokin Southampton 35% Stoke 15% Charlton 25% Russell Slade is the only Charlton manager to have a worse win rate.
His record taking Luton thru the leagues speaks for itself - very few managers are capable of it …I know for a fact Neil Harris isn’t
On a footballing topic - just spoke to my pal that runs the millwall podcast - he has heard that the Alex Mitchell rumour is a counter offer from CAFC - we have made enquiries about one of your injured players and been told he will cost £750K plus Mitchell. Hutchinson and his agent have held initial talks with CAFC, but the terms were miles apart (he was on £9K per week with us, and you have offered him £3.5K). That's not to say it's completely off the table.
The thing I don't understand is you don't have ant players that are Championship standard, let alone one that we have to pay for.
Trigger was my favourite character, and Trigger's Broom is a phrase which is now accepted as a scientific term for an object which renews. TC means it as a compliment. He's really cheering us on for promotion, Millwall will need the 6 points when we go up.
