Ashton ......Below is Reform's position on immigration. Do you have a quote from for Farage saying he wants to stop it altogether ?

It was during the leaders debate on tv. He’s a divisive character as well. He also made a claim about a street in Oldham that couldn’t speak English, but couldn’t name one when questioned on the radio by a street cleaner from Oldham.

We can all find instances to back up our dislike for individual MP’s or parties. He’s just not my cup of tea, and neither is reform, sorry.

I agree wih you about instances to dislike, Sunak is an oily slippery character who I have tried hard to understand but I just don't trust him, I have always been a moderate Conservative and voted for party not individual but honestly we have not got a a Conservative party, Starmer to me is a born liar, a boring flip flopper, lacks personality, leadership and courage of conviction, still believes woman have got a penus and kneels to BLM, Farage I have never been a fan of, his party will never get elected, the rest are mice squeaking around for votes.

I have never missed a vote in the whole of my life, for me it's a real dillema, I totally except Labour have already won this election and what a f....... shower they are, I think I may well bin my vote , get on with life and watch them bugger up the country even more, I still haven't forgot the articulated lorries storing the dead bodies because we couldn't bury them, devaluation of the currency, Tony Blair, lies, the Iraq wars and death toll suffered, Brown, lies, 75p pension increase, insurance and gold theft, no money left note and the financial crash which took us years of austerity to clear, now we have Starmer lies, Lammy lies. Rayner lies, Thornberry lies plus.

I think I'll do a Rip Van Winkle and pray.

Mr Farage was talking about zero net migration not zero immigration.

Do you actually like anyone, apart from your family of course <laugh>. For me if Labour get in and don’t make things fairer I’ll join you because the Torys have shafted the country big time , and I’m fed up of their excuses and blaming everyone and everything else, Farage is divisive, a chancer and a trouble maker, and the Lib Dem’s, well they’re just the Lib Dem’s. I may well vote Greens

In life there is a whole plethora (posh word :emoticon-0105-wink:) of people I admire and a few true friendships which I value, very few politicians, suprisingly enough I've had a couple of heroes, like Rp, I loved Tony Benn, a real leftie and a true man of principle, JFK was a real hero of mine in my early teens, John Lennon was my mindset leader, still miss him to this day.

I still remember a couple of great JFK speech quotes ~
    * All free men, wherever they may live, are citizens of Berlin, and, therefore, as a free man, I take pride in the words "Ich bin ein Berliner."
    * It's not what my country does for me but what I can do for my country.

Didn't that (Ich bin ein Berliner.") translate as something odd like I am a Hot Dog or something ?

Bloody hell angelic I never knew that in my life <laugh>
'By including the indefinite article "ein," he supposedly changed the meaning of the sentence from the intended "I am a citizen of Berlin" to "I am a Berliner" (a Berliner being a type of German pastry, similar to a jam- or jelly-filled doughnut), amusing Germans throughout the city.'

This is correct. It did translate oddly - but German speaking people understood what he meant - and they forgave him!
I can speak (basically) a few languages (German, French, Spanish and a tiny bit of Russian) and I’m sure I probably sound weird to them when I speak - it’s as much effort for the locals to try and understand me as it is for me trying to speak their lingo <laugh>

I liked Tony Benn as well, politically at least. He was of course a Bristol MP, and allegedly bit of a womaniser .

I don't have any knowledge on Tony Benn and his romances but JFK had Marilyn Monroe and a bevy of ladies plus a beautiful wife.

    Farage Eyes Conservative-Reform Merger
    Last updated 9 minutes ago
Nigel Farage has expressed his willingness to lead a merged Conservative and Reform party after the next election, aiming to create a new centre-right opposition to Labour. He believes he is capable of leading a national opposition to a Labour Party with a big majority and is prepared to lead the centre right. However, his suggestions have been met with skepticism and opposition from various quarters within the Conservative party.

    Just as I thought !
Its probably the only way back for the Tories come July, as they will basically cease to exist after this coming election and they've only got themselves to blame for the mess they've got themselves in. They abandoned their own core principles.

Rumour is that JFK had Marylin killed because she was pregnant with his child - or was it Robert? I get the story confused.

I’m confused, why doesn’t Farage just join the Tory’s and run to be their leader?, why all the shenanigans of starting a new party, to then merge and lead the Tories?

The Tories are full of lefties-wets-wefs the swamp needs draining. Not recognised by true conservative voters.
