The other way to look at it could be to have 3 at the back. Kelly, Botman and a new RCB with Hall & Tino as wing backs. That could work pretty well...
Theoretically, sure, but the issue that then appears is we have no sub LWB or RWB, so we’re thinner through the positional shift. Besides, Kelly is a LCB/LB just like Burn. There’s some tactic Howe has spoken about before when saying how important Burn was. Main reason why Hall didn’t get a look in. Now looks like Kelly will come in to that role. It’s something to do with shuffling across, a lopsided 433 / 343 transition. I think Howe’s so convinced it works (cos it did 22/23) that he’s going to do it to death.

This is also a reasonable hypothesis. I just don't think we can discount a formation change / plan b from Howe after a few experiments towards the end of last season...
Kelly brings pace at the back - something we've sorely lacked. I'm going to guess the rcb we get next will have pace too. Then allows us to always have 1 at the back who can recover quickly.
