Still surprised that he called the election at this time - unless, of course, he knows/suspects that things (the economy - inflation, interest rates) are not going to improve in the next few months, possibly flatline or worsen.
He just knows he’s ****ed. He knows he’s ****ed up recently on D-Day etc. He knows he’s not liked. I think he actually thought the Rwanda flight would be his vote-winner trump card - vote me, get Rwanda flights / vote Starmergeddon and they won’t happen. He’s clearly an arse.
In some respects the Tories lost the Election when they got shot of Boris - I’m not saying that they’d have won under Boris, but he was more of a ‘vote harvester’ than anyone else they’ve got. Sunak is never a Number One.
One of his advisors, Craig Williams, who is also a candidate somewhere in Wales, actually did have a bet on a July election and is now under investigation. **** was too stupid to ask a mate to put the money on for him. But clever enough to advise the PM, who was clever enough to appoint him. Still, who cares, the Tories are history, and they know it. Bet Braverman is the first to join Reform/ New British Union, possibly even before the election.
I'm only a whipper snapper in comparison to many on here, but I've never known this country to be in such a state. Everything is either ****ed or the worst it's ever been.
Understood, but in allocating governmental blame, it is context that has to be taken into account. That doesn't absolve the Tories from some particularly poor decisions they've made however.
“Labour manifesto to prioritise wealth creation” - not words that I expected to hear from a Labour leader, unless he means wealth creation of politicians.
Because I never learn I’m listening to the wireless again and Pat McFadden, Labour’s alleged brain, being interviewed on the wealth creating manifesto which is apparently packed full of pictures of Starmer, as if he is an asset. He has a few slogans ‘we will not be defeated’ and specialises in lying/evading questions. Claiming that the economic growth achieved in the early nineties would have been maintained by a Labour government, regardless of global financial crises, pandemics and wars. Does he think we are morons? Swivelling like a stuck pig on avoiding answering whether Council Tax will change. Rajan doing a good job letting listeners know that McFadden is sniggering and smirking during this insult to the electorate. Best question of the campaign so far - what is the point of you if you are going to keep policies which drive people into poverty, why did you come into politics? No answer. I despise this version of the Labour Party, a grey, ersatz cut and paste of the most tedious version of the Tories, even more than I hated the stupid Corbyn version. Quite an achievement. It seems that not only does nobody in the Shadow Cabinet have any serious experience in government, but none of them have any relevant experience running anything at all. **** me, what a cluster this is. I’m really quite cross, even though my expectations are close to zero, and am pretty detached from the British parliamentary system. I think it’s because all these ****ers are treating us like idiots.
