If this is true then out of principle we should just leave him to rot in the reserves for a year. We pay in both scenarios. he will get a signing on fee too if it’s a free… ffs.
I guess it answers the question someone posed of why we still have so much Ashley deadwood on the books. Presume that Newcastle and Southampton were jointly paying him his Newcastle salary last year. From his point of view by signing for them he is losing part of that. Sure we will end up negotiating a figure that means he will be no worse off than if he stayed with us.
I do think the cult need to Google the word plodder btw. a person who works in a slow and persevering but uninspired manner. "a decent hard-working bloke who is a bit of a plodder
Me too. Had a soft spot for the p**n king Kenny Ames though. Seemed a decent guy. please log in to view this image
I can’t understand how it all soured so quick. Wasn’t that long ago we were all joking about how him and burn looked like a player and mascot and they kept the banter going for ages. It’s then just changed in the blink of an eye. Overall it’s been a disaster of a move but there was a player in there. The season we stayed up he was class in the second half of the season.
Don't believe this for one second, he'd get a signing on fee of that size signing for Soton anyway. He's got no desire to be here and they love him there. What a loada ****
I think his attitude is something to do with it. He seems quite selfish. But there is definitely a player there. Always remember him getting wiped out by Ederson. And it not being a penalty.
Given that we got him for free I think it's been worth every penny. He had some good form for us at times and agree that he was a key reason we didn't get relegated. Howe seemed to get the best out of him but I got the impression his days were numbered from the moment Howe came through the door. It's a shame his attitude hasn't helped him more as Scotland are currently playing in a major tournament and Fraser should be at his peak and out there playing for them.
