@Dick Plumb1 is an excellent football poster and it would be good if he carried on posting about football on here.

How about all 6 members agree that we keep the stuff about banter & Elfs restricted to just 95% of the threads on here, and leave the transfer thread and the owners thread as “football only”.

It would be good for the forum & good for the 3 members on here who want to talk football.

Seems a reasonable request to me ?

There's no football to talk about though. When it starts we can talk football but until then this quirky little forum will carry on in its own way. I'd like to have Dick on ere but it's up to him.

I was under the impression that @Dick Plumb1 would not be posting on this forum anymore because he took exception to the way some of his posts were questioned in the 'transfer window' thread. That issue was nothing to do with non-football content.

If I'm wrong about that, or if there are other reasons as well - let's hear them.

    EDIT:

I have had a look in the Transfer Rumours and New Owners threads,
But cannot see any non-football posts present - at least on the most recent few pages.
If there are any, please point them out to me and I'll ask members to keep those threads on-topic.

I think your glasses must be steamed up Lardi ?

If you look at the transfer thread, 8 of the last 10 posts are what could loosely be described at banter.

All I am politely requesting is that we keep the non football stuff to the non football threads. That way , the folk who want to co tribute to them know where to focus their creative efforts :emoticon-0148-yes:

The Euros start on Friday ? Admittedly the Scots involvement is likely to be a short one, but that’s another thread we could ring fence for football.

I don't think there's any harm in a little idle banter during quiet times.

When important footballing news actually appears (probably in July sometime) I'm sure the forum will focus on discussing it.
And any isolated snippets of real CAFC news in the meantime won't be overlooked.

    Summers are always like this.
Especially Summers after disappointing and disheartening seasons - which is every Summer now since 2019.

Absolutely no harm whatsoever in a little banter. Since when did individual posters start believing that they could dictate when, where and how banter could be used on this forum.

It’s not a court of law. It’s an online forum.

And I too would like to see DP return. But only if he wants to. I suspect that the recent increase in snide comments and unnecessary friction is partly what drove him away.

And if you look at the posts immediately prior to DP quitting the forum (on the transfers thread) you will see one poster above all others, who was posting repeated, complete b*llocks (or banter you could say) on that day, which seems to have led directly to DP’s departing comment.

The same poster who is now trying to dictate when, where and how we can use banter and directing us to stick to only posting comments that he approves of.

You couldn’t make it up <doh><laugh>

On a serious level, as always, what was/is the opinion of Ally Mc(rain)Cleod? He seemed a likeable individual.

Quite likeable but completely the wrong manager for Scotland. After the 1978 fiasco he bought a pub in Kilmarnock which I never used but which was quite popular. I was one of his army, and the only players who clapped the fans were Joe Jordan and Kenny Dalglish.

We have the Dick Institute in Kilmarnock. It's actually the name of the public library

It was a fantastic holiday. Lots of money to spend on booze in the second 2 weeks, which had been set aside for travel.
