The problem with Beale wasn't results, he got 14 points from 11 games. Mowbray only got 13 points from his first 11 games and there was no calls for him to be sacked at the time. Beale's face didn’t fit from the start.
Add in the quality of Greaves at CB who’ll go for big money and the experience of players like Seri/Tufan/Omur and you might’ve had a point… I feel it was a better and more equipped squad than ours was, who people definitely overrate.
I mean, the international stuff doesn't mean much Styles, Ballard, Hume are all full internationals. Yeah granted his experience with Fenerbache was good but when he first joined hull he wasn't doing as well as he did last season. No-one is dismissing their talent it's just not as insane as people are claiming. Missing out on the playoffs by 3 points is being used as a way to call rosenior ****e by a lot of people when in reality it's his first full season
He just came across as sly to me ... ... whereas Neil was openly crafty. I didn't like either personally but Beale made me wince when I saw him on the touchline. I think he alienated the players and that's perhaps why Dodds didn't do as well in his second stint. A clean slate is definitely needed and a good pre-season.
it was which is why they finished 7th. They missed out by 3 points. Not as if they completely ****ed it
3 wins from their final 13 league games. They were in a great position for a play-off spot… Not that I particularly care like. They were poor in both games against us last season, turned over off the mighty Beale.
Just out of interest, seeing how you have negative thoughts on the above people we were apparently interested in, who would you prefer, that is within our scope?
Yes, rosenior has a clear style of play, while beale didnt When i watch a rosenior team you can see they have an identity, something beale's team never had
Exactly. The good old championship. Canny league when you’re competing, awful when you’re just making up the numbers…
His face did not fit. And he wasn't a relatable or likeable character was the same at Rangers. However I would have happily lived with that. My problem with him was on the pitch. He completely stifled our play. The young lads just stopped expressing themselves and appeared to be going through the motions. Every game was like a coaching session with no end product. The club were absolutely right to bin him early. In my view he would have seriously hampered the development of our young players. The unfortunate thing is they did not replace him immediately
I personally think we've got a squad full of real talent. We just need a decent coach for it to be properly showcased. Mowbray, as much as I liked him, is far from the top level of coaching talent that could be attracted to this level and he had this seasons squad in and around the playoffs with the potential (based on the underlying stats) to push on and cement that position in the second half of the season. With a Rohl or a McKenna I'm adamant we'd have been right up there.
Wouldn't surprise me one bit. Or just another leak like the Jansen one. We are no longer interested in him. If its not him then will have to be some real wild card. No other names apart from Cifuentes being remotely linked
